Stayed for 3 nights at Jicaro Ecolodge and it was so amazing. A quiet and peaceful small resort which is embedded in the natural world. The small houses are beautifully designed and comfortable, almost like tree houses over the lake. There are ceiling fans upstairs and down if the air is humid or hot. Guests can choose to be by themselves in their casitas, or join other guests near the pool, spa. or lake. the food is first rate and a mix of local ingredients and dishes with other cuisines. Morning yoga classes are excellent. The island has its own water filtration system that is excellent. I had no concerns about food or water contamination. WiFi is excellent. We were awakened by an avian symphony in the morning and serenaded in the late afternoon by many species of birds. Lake Nicaragua is wonderful for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Guests were a mix of retirees, people on vacation, and younger couples. the resort's capacity is 18. The staff is just plain lovely and anticipates needs and accommodates any request. Guests need to be able to climb stairs in the casitas and navigate uneven ground on the island pathways.
