Friends and I stayed here for two nights and could not have been more delighted. This is a very comfortable boutique hotel offering everything you might need for a relaxing short stay in Venice. Between us we occupied rooms 9, 11 and 12 on the first floor, all of them decorated in the house Deco style, adjacent to the bar and breakfast area and with great views of the Grand Canal. Arriving by water taxi from Santa Lucia station, we were welcomed on the jetty by the gracious Valentina who made us feel immediately at home. Double rooms and larger suites are spacious and well furnished - beds and bathrooms are particularly excellent. The decor throughout the palazzo leans towards the theatrical, with its signature use of red, black, mirrors and velvet. We all enjoyed the ambiance although lighting in the rooms is insistently subdued, no matter how many lamp switches are pressed. Standard continental breakfast is very good with extra items available at small additional charges. Street entrance to the hotel is via a narrow, winding alley, making for an atmospheric exit or entrance whatever the time of day. If you're looking for a modish haven for a busy few days in Venice, in a central but hidden location, this is the place.
