First visit to Seville. Hotel Mercer was actually our second choice, (original choice was unavailable). So glad it happened that way, as Mercer was one of the highlights of our trip in Spain. The hotel is a converted old mansion - must have been a magnificent house in its day. The original decor and atmosphere have been preserved wherever possible -it has a special feel about it. The suite was large enough, great bed, excellent bathroom. If any fault could be picked, the room is a bit dark. The breakfast is superb, a la cart or buffet continental, whatever you prefer. I understand the restaurant (which doubles as the breakfast room) is also one of the best in Seville. Unfortunately, not enough time to try it. The staff is so professional and helpful - every one of them. It is a small luxury boutique hotel, but it lacks nothing at all. In the heart of Seville old town, picturesque street, but not inaccessible to taxis. I travel regularly and always stay at good hotels. I would rate Hotel Mercer as one of the best I have stayed in Europe.
