Hôtel Cour du Corbeau Strasbourg - MGallery Hotel

It was our first time in Strasbourg and the location of this hotel was great. The staff was nice and the rooms were clean and nice. However, the air conditioning was pretty much non existent, and that made it very difficult to sleep. During the day it was over 90 F or 32C, and not much cooler at night. I had to try to go to bed without a blanket on to even have a chance of falling asleep. It is also rather difficult to try to get picked up from the hotel, we had a rental car and it took us a fair amount of time to get everything together on check out day. The building itself is beautiful and is one of the oldest hotels I have ever stayed in, but the interior was refreshed and newer. If the weather is not uncharacteristically hot, you should have no troubles with this hotel.

Cour de Corbeau is located within easy walk of Strasbourg Cathedral and the Old Town. The building dates from the 16th century, but the hotel's facilities are bang up-to-date. The hotel's staff members were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Worthy of particular mention is Nicholas, who resolved a tricky issue I was experiencing with train tickets. I occupied a very spacious deluxe room. The very comfortable queen sized bed was actually two singles pushed together. The room was furnished in Louis XV style, which seemed a little incongruous in a modern hotel housed in a 16th century building. Furniture consisted of table and chairs, dressing table and chair, two bedside tables and an upholstered seat at the end of the bed. An unusual feature of the room was its access to a private courtyard. The bathroom contained two hand basins, a heated towel rail and a combination bath/shower. The side of the bath was very high and would make it difficult for an elderly or short guest to access it. The shower was attached to a vertical rail and it was a problem to prevent water from the shower wetting the floor. Towels and amenities were of high quality. The toilet was located in its own separate room. Breakfast was served in a very pleasantly decorated room with wooden tables and chairs upholstered in neutral colored leather seats and red fabric chair backs. A good selection of juices and Continental Breakfast items were provided. The selection of preserves and honey was exceptional and delicious. Service at breakfast time was pleasant and efficient.
