    Nice Stay!

The hotel was modernly decorated and served a good atmosphere. The room we received was spacious and with views of the old city. When we arrived at the hotel it was very cold outside and we received a very pleasant welcome from Mike who brought us hot soup. We had trouble with the suitcases and there was something at the receipt that was very polite and he carried our suitcases, later we found out that it was the hotel's CEO Ben, instead of free parking and within walking distance of the city. Thank you so much!

    Friendly Staff

My wife and I visit Jerusalem quite often and had been very happy staying at the Dan Panorama the last few times, but this time we wanted to be walking distance to visit our son and his family. We found this hotel and loved that it is a Dan, as we've always had good experiences with that chain. We were not disappointed in any way. The staff was extremely warm and helpful, our room large and bright and there was a kind homey that comes from being in a smaller boutique hotel. There was still the wonderful breakfast buffet, with special requests from the kitchen being welcome. The location was great, as it is just across the street from First Station, an historic but no longer in use train station, which is now a hub of very good restaurants, lively entertainment and small shops and kiosks. From there one can take a free shuttle to the Old City, also so convenient. The one thing we found missing was a swimming pool at our hotel, but the manager was kind enough to arrange a one day use of the pool at another Dan hotel, so we spent a lovely afternoon in the water with our family.

    A Nice Boutique Hotel

The hotel has its pluses and minuses but the pluses clearly outweigh the minuses. This is not your hotel if you want to be able to walk to a lot of places as it is somewhat out of the way but it is close to the German Colony and the old train station and is a short taxi ride to many places. I had a rental car and the hotel's free parking for guests was a big plus. Having stayed at the hotel during low season I do not know what it would be like during high season but I had no problem parking. There are though limited spots. One problem though is that it is only legal to pull into the hotel driveway (and then the parking lot) from the south. I violated this a few times and got away with it but it isn't the safest thing to do. The common areas of the hotel were very nice although my room showed a bit of wear. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine, there were plenty of electrical outlets and a desk area, the TV worked fine and there was a good selection of channels for an American or someone from the UK. Of course any hotel in Israel is going to have some Russian channels given the number of Russian speakers in the country since the breakup of the FSU. Service was excellent. The in-room safe was large enough for my laptop and the refrigerator was empty so you could stock it yourself and not be ripped off from mini-bar prices. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you so much.
