    Serene, Fantastic Views

I stayed in Club Tara last Feb 5-6, 2019 with a friend for a 1 night stay. The view was fantastic! I particularly liked their stilt water cottages, the big room & jacuzzi with the view of the lagoon and the free use of kayaks & paddle board. It was very quiet & serene & during night time we could see fireflies & the stars. The resort location was about 40 mins boat ride from mainland port of Claver, Surigao. It was far but the resort arranged for a boat pick up & drop off service & also a 4hr day tours in the islets the morning after. The staff were friendly & polite & always greets you with a smile. The food was served in generous portions, I ordered fish ceviche, very delicious! In general, I would say that my experience was great, the bath tub with a sea view didn’t disappoint for a good instagram post! I give this resort 4 of 5 rating. The resort has been operating for the last 11years & so it needs renovation. Some parts of the roof in the balcony appears to be falling. The pillows, bedsheets &curtains looked very worn out. As it is located in a far off island, they should have a power generator ready in case of black outs ( like when we were there, there was no electricity). Also, the WiFi needs to be improved that should reach the rooms. Lastly, the resort may need to hire a well- trained manager to improve their customer service.

    Big Disappointment

I booked a room with my friends for a vacation on this resort considering it's very affordable room rate. The hotel was located on a small island and completely isolated from the mainland. The island was magical and people was very approachable. The room was basic and the staff were very friendly. The room has unexpected guest like cockroaches and mosquitoes. No television or any entertainment. Toilet looks dirty and not well maintained. No facilities normally expected on this resort so better arranged your own island hopping with the fishermans in the mainland. No mobile access also. Some cottage was already old and worn out. They also have limited food options so partically no other choices.
