A world away from the usual all-inclusive Caribbean resort hotels, the Admiral's is a true delight. A wonderful old building, perfectly placed overlooking the water inside the historic Nelson's Dockyard, very well run by charming, friendly folk and very reasonably priced. The one less-than-fantastic bit was the food, breakfasts were okay, while the dinner we had there was very ordinary. But there's a wealth of terrific eating places, from fine dining to cheap and cheerful, within easy walking distance. If you can, book a room in the main building facing onto the harbor, so you can make the most of the early morning sunshine and the sea breezes.
