    Excellent Location And Hotel

I stayed here because of all of the good reviews, but the hotel not only lived up to their reputation but exceeded it. This fabulous boutique hotel really cares about their guests and wants to improve their services. Every staff member I spoke to was kind and helpful. One of the front desk staff (I wished I remembered her name) was so helpful in walking me over to the MTR station, helping me buy a ticket, and get on the right train -- by the way the MTR station is right across the street so it is very convenient to get anywhere in the city, and it is easy to use. The hotel is only two stops away from the Marina Bay Sands and within walking distance of the Merlion. Not only is it conveniently located for transportation and sites, but it is also built in an old temple building in a nice part of town. It felt authentic and updated at the same time. When I arrived, my room wasn't ready because it was 9 am in the morning. As other reviewers have noted, they let me use one of the rooms to freshen up. I can't tell you how nice that was after traveling for 36 hours. I did end up staying in the single room. It was perfectly sized for one person and I actually appreciated how the room was laid out. I could go on about the other wonderful parts of the hotel - free minibar/snacks, helpful phone to use. The one not so fabulous part was the breakfast at Dean and Deluca -- which is entirely about Dean and Deluca and not the hotel. It was convenient to hop next door, but the staff there were not friendly, the eggs were so greasy, the fruit was not ripe, and the menu was different for hotel guest than their normal menu. Overall - an excellent stay at the AMOY hotel. I would recommend to everyone who visits Singapore!

    Awesome Staycation

The location of the Amoy hotel is one of the best parts about this great property. It is located right in the heart of the Singapore CBD and a really short walking distance to Chinatown. There are a whole bunch of restaurants, bars and shops located in the same complex as the hotel. The hotel is a really unique property. It is located on the site of a historic Chinese Temple. I was actually a little confused when I first arrived because I was unaware of this fact and I didn't want to disturb the patrons of the temple. I quickly discovered that you just have to walk a really short distance through the temple to arrive at the front desk. This is a solid 4-Star property. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was well apportioned. The shower had both a hand held option and a rainfall shower (my favorite). They had several western TV stations available as well as decently fast wifi. Free mini bar, the Amoy hotel provides a well stocked and FREE mini bar. This was such a nice feature. More hotels should follow the Amoy's example. It's the small details like this that really make a place stand out. The free breakfast at the upscale gourmet food shop right next door is both bounteous and has a decent variety of choice. The hotel's location is ideal - right on the boundary between China Town and the financial district, with a major street food mall a gazillion choices of cuisine at cheap prices just a couple of blocks away, and the excellent metro system has a stop just across the street. So stop agonizing on where to stay in Singapore and just go book the Amoy. We have traveled the world extensively, and the Amoy is right at the top in hotel experiences for those of us who studiously avoid nose-bleed prices.
