This hotel is wonderfully close to the Historic District and night life that continues until dawn. Excellent restaurants, outdoor seating areas, and good food! Visit UVA, Art Galleries, the Paramount and more!

Excellent location. Windows didn't open! Drunk people kept us awake until 2 am. Windows didn't open in room, and the whole hotel kind of smelled stale. Location is great.

We wanted a reasonably priced hotel convenient to UVA and with rates that were reasonable and with clean hotel room and safe location

This is a decent place in a great location (by U of V) but most places of this type offer a free continental breakfast and all they offer is coffee out of a machine. There is also a charge for Internet access. There are numerous lunch/dinner restaurants nearby. There are also stops nearby for the trolly to take you downtown. The staff was very responsive and the room was nice.

Very nice place. Clean. Coffee machines with coffee/cappachinos available all hours. Great location. Would definitely stay there again. Attached parking garage. Dislikes: No conditioner. Only two towels provided per room. No fitness center.

Very clean for modest priced hotel. Staff very helpful and courteous. wonderful to have coffee bar.

Definitely a cut above the usual Red Roof experience. The staff was polite to a fault. The place has a parking garage. So, parking was not even a concern. Not only is it within walking distance of a lot of good downtown restaurants and attractions, it is right next door to the Mellow Mushroom(a fabulous eating establishment with Charlottesville's biggest beer list on tap).

We selected this hotel because of its convenient location to UVA...an easy walk to the lawn/rotunda. When my son told me that he had stayed at the Red Roof Inn for a high school field trip, I was well prepared. The decor is average, and the a/c was way too noisy. The room was a good size; could easily accommodate 2 queen sized v. 2 full beds. Price and convenience can't be beat (try the restaurant 'Basil' around the corner). We would stay there again...but not a good place for the particular/choosy.

I came here deciding that a majority of positive reviews were good enough to gamble on, and I was right. My room was clean, comfortable but not luxurious and well kept throughout my stay. The bed was very comfortable, though I wish I'd brought my own pillow. The desk was merely adequate - only two electrical outlets at the desk and none anywhere nearby - but the chair was very comfortable. The bathroom very nice and water pressure fine but the lack of an exhaust fan meant my mirror was fogged every time I really needed it. I had zero problems with noise from the train; I watched a train go by and could not hear it. The hotel staff were EXCEPTIONAL in all regards. They were responsive to a minor problem, genuinely helpful and friendly when asked for recommendations or opinions and both check-in and check-out took moments. The entrance is absurdly narrow and only by dint of driving a tiny import could I squeeze past the other cars parked there to get to the garage. There isn't much to be done about it, but going around to the back entrance to the garage is advised. The T-Mobile wireless internet signal was weak and overpriced, but there are numerous other open wireless networks within range. Given the price and the quality of the room and staff, I recommend this place to the basic-needs traveler without any reservation.

poorly cleaned room soap residue caked in shower, all I needed was a bed for the night, and a good shower. yuk

Because I was traveling alone, I wanted to stay in a hotel that I would feel safe in (that did not have an entrance from the outside). The Red Roof Inn had just been remodeled and the rooms were great. Everything was new! The beds were comfortable and the showers were very clean. I would absolutely stay in this hotel if I were traveling to the area again. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful as well. : )

the room was funky/wet smelling - can't open the window to air it out, and the AC broke the second night thus is was very very hot and stuffy.

This hotel was a great value. The rooms were clean, the bathroom was very large and the service was very attentive. We used this location to visit the four homes of the different US Presidents.

We took in a concert and explored local shops while in Charlottesville. This hotel was perfect for that. The location was central to the heart of the city and UVA. We either walked or took a short cab ride everywhere that we went. We really enjoyed our trip. However, this hotel had zero luxury. It was clean. It was safe. It was fine. But everything was basic. In my opinion, the price was a little on the steep side for "the basics". We could have at least had fluffy towels....!?!?!

Location for visitors with business (or a student) at the University of Virginia is ideal.. Within easy walking distance to the campus and "The Corner." While not fancy, the hotel is quiet, well-kept, and close to a variety of dining spots.

Room was clean with a few amenenties in the bathroom. Noise level was at a minimum. Staff was friendly and helpful when needed. In-room coffee would have been nice and convenient.

This was a great place for a quick stay while visiting the University of Virginia! Only thing I would add is a Business center with computers and printers.

I like this Inn. Good location. On bus line and free trolly to historic part of town.
