This is the first time I will be writing a bad review. Not only is the hotel in a bad location (end of an alley way), but is disgusting. We asked for a nonsmoking room and we got it, but the room reaked cigaretts, they changed the room to one that didn't have the smell which was great. When get go the room it was nothing out of the world, the room is a standard room, but it was dirty, I didn't even allow my children to take their shoes off, at that point I really didn't care as we were there for only one night. I should of thought about it twice, in the middle of the night I couldn't sleep, I was itching, I thought it was my mind playing games so didn't think much of it. We woke up in the morning and had at least 8 bits that itch like crazy. I checked my kids and they also had marks...I checked the matteress and found BED BUGS!!!! Not only in the mattress also in the towels in the bathroom. Boy I was upset and picked up all my stuff packed and we got out of there...They did provide a refund. This place is disgusting and would not recommend to anyone!

Just about everything. The room just did not appear clean, moth eaten curtains to very scratchy bed linens. We were not comfortable being in. Location was also dark and gloomy with people hanging around.

Front desk staff seemed annoyed to check us in. The room STANK of cat urine. The sink and shower didn't work properly. The beds were dirty. The pillows seemed so old that Jefferson probably slept on them. The AC unit was so loud that it woke us up every 10 minutes. The drunks in the parking lot were making noise until 2am. I had to keep looking out the window to see if my car had been stolen. And for this they charged *! If it hadn't been so late and I wasn't so tired I would have (and should have) left as soon as I opened the door! My advice: sleep in your car, it is better than this place!

We were looking for a hotel while we visited Monticello, but had no idea that UVA's graduation was the same weekend! So, I booked this, and really it was OK, but the ceiling in the bathroom was literally gravity challenged and the place didn't seem too clean overall. HOWEVER, the breakfast was great for continental (waffles, bicuits with gravy, good fruit and pastries), and unlike more expensive hotels we stayed at on our trip the WiFi was free! It was OK ...

The ice machine worked. The room was filthy, stained and had trash on the floor. The sink was falling off the wall. The whole effect was depressing. The staff was unhelpful. The breakfast was an inedible joke. Don't stay here!

This place was dirty!! Mirror and bathroom weren't clean, carpet dirty, it wasn't good. The place was old, ac super loud, but the dirt was the worst part. Not qualty.

Eventhough I don't usually do non-smoking rooms but I was desperate because of the lack of hotel rooms for graduation weekend, the room was clean. There were a lot of smoke burn marks on the bathtub and vanity. The tub was springy even though there were no mat. I'm thinking the non smoking rooms would have been in better shape. The people at the desk were extremely helpful and the breakfast was adequate. I was able to print out my airline boarding passes at the desk.

Plenty of hot water for the shower. Spiders/mold by ventilation/no working ice machines. The location was fine. The cleanliness was the primary complaint.

Stayed there June 8 & 9. The staff at the desk was very friendly. There were no wash cloths in the room. Found two wash cloths on the shower curtain rod from the previous guests. One had a live roach in it. Two of the four lights in the room did not light. Some one from the staff checked on the room condition at approximately 3:00 PM on the 9th and we requested clean towels and wash cloths only (no need to make the beds). It never happened.

Nothing! NA. I'd never go back; too expensive (took advantage of the fact that it was UVA graduation weekend); Non-smoking room reeked of smoke, an empty vodka bottle in drawer & garbage under bed wasn't removed even after I told them) & I was there for 3 nights. In my other room half the TV channels were fuzzy and the local channels didn't work at all (so I couldn't get local weather-I was there for an outdoor graduation). Not enough room in the free breakfast area. Everyone was smoking outside of the registration area. You needed a mask to pass by. If you are coming for graduation better you should go out of town than to stay here.

Outside entrance to all rooms which are tired. Sink is in exposed alcove. Exterior door moves the whole wall as it is closed. Heat/ac cycles on/off, radically changing noise level in room. All other is just as expected.

Convenient location. Not very well maintained/ some areas not very clean. It was a place to sleep. The tub water ran all the time, very noisy, reported it to staff. Had to keep door to bathroom closed.

The TV reception was wworse than with an antenna. Jiggling the connectors helped.

It was near my destination. An employee took food off the breakfast bar. I would not stay here again. I did not feel that the staff was very professional or respectful of the customers; that would be the desk person at check-out person and the employee helping himself to the breakfast bar. Also the microwave and refrigerator did not work in my room.

Easy location. Nationally compared, Charlottesville hotels are too expensive. This is an older, average property. It was clean and the location was excellent. It is across the street from an excellent steak house. I don't understand the hotel prices in Charlottesville.
