The hotel is a little tired, the room was confortable, although there was litter under the bed, the breakfast was adiquate, not the best by a long way. Service was difficult to get when we came back late evening, the snacks were very pricey and just OK. Nothing to write home about, but it was warm and dry, not worth the £155.00 though.

The room and bed were the largest of any that we had stayed in during our vacation to the UK. The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to answer our questions. The local train station is next door and the National Rail Line was approx. 15 min. walk.

Although I requested a double room I was disappointed to find we got a twin room however as it was for 1 night I didn't complain. The bathroom was in good condition however the decoration and furnishings in the bedroom room were a little shabby and at night because we were on the third floor overlooking George Square it was noisy with traffic and Saturday night revellers however the view did compensate for any associated noise. At 1am the lights in our room stopped working. By the next morning they hadn't been sorted so we had to contact reception to get them fixed - think the circuit was broken. Overall I would book this hotel again as it is very central and the staff were very efficient and courteous.

I chose the hotel for a special weekend away with my partner. We decided on this hotel because we have stayed before and enjoyed it, the restaraunt was lovely and served gorgeous food so we would just stay in the hotel and take advantage of the facilities as the weather is so bad! However we did not enjoy this weekend so much....When I was out at the shop my girlfriend was getting changed on arriving in the room, a young guy just walked right into the room to fill up the mini-bar just as she was undressed and standing only in her underwear...he didnt leave as fast as he should have either after standing in shock looking for a few seconds. After seeing how the rain was determined not to stop all day we decide to eat in at the hotel, we called to book a table when we were out shopping and were told there was a wedding on and we could only be seated in the brasserie (a bistro environment open to the reception area) but we could have the A La'Carte menu from the restaraunt. We were fine with this.We went for our reservation at 8pm to be seating near the window (which we had requested - lovely) but we had a selection of the restaurant's menu and not A La'Carte. We were sat on a wobbly table which was a typical really small metal table for two like you do get in a bistro or cafe, we asked to be moved as it was making us spill our drinks everytime it wobbled and the new table had an even bigger wobble. We gave up at this point and kept our feet firmly on the base to steady the table through out our meal.We weren't wanting to leave the building as it was so wet outside but we decided to leave and go to a bar close by as it was so loud and crowded from the wedding. The party ware also outside the function room which meant there were drunken wedding guests in the bistro/brasserie and the reception and also and falling around while having a cigarette right beneath our 'quiet' window seat with what we thought was a nice view.On returning to the hotel later on the TV picture qual

Glasgow was, on this occasion, a staging post for a trip to the Western Highlands. The Millenium Hotel was perfect in this regard being next to the railway station and very central for a quick look at the city. The hotel itself proved to be a good standard 4*.

Having read some of the previous bad reviews we were a bit apprehensive but we must have been staying at a different hotel as our room was not in the least "tired". We only stayed one night but will return soon for two or three nights.

Glasgow is an interesting city with a strange blend of old and new. Much of this was influenced by the almost art-deco architectural styling of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who along with his followers came to change the face of the city in the late 1800's. This old/new theme opens today's review, but I have to start by admitting that I am stumped. I'd love to have something critical to say about the Millennium Glasgow, but the hotel was great! And even better, the rate we got from Venere was unbelievable for this quality property. So yes, you read it right - top marks all around! Situated on George Square this property is positioned at the very heart of Glasgow. Everything you want is within easy walking distance, including the Hop-On/Hop-Off tour bus if you want a nice city tour. One of the two main rail stations is just behind the hotel, and an Underground station is very close by. Continuing the old/new theme, the hotel is housed in an old building with character, but it is a completely modern hotel, re-done within the last few years to the highest possible standard. The rooms are modern and well appointed. They are well insulated from the noise of the busy square, and are even air conditioned. Wi-Fi internet access is available, and there are further internet terminals in the hotel lobby. (For the cost-conscious, a great little internet cafe only a block away which would be a much more reasonable alternative!) Our complimentary upgrade to a "Club Suite" gave us an absolutely huge room by anyone's standards, with some sitting space in addition to a (US!) King size bed. Club rooms also provide access to a special lounge with some more free goodies. (Unfortunately not with our complimentary upgrade.) But any room you choose will be suitable in this hotel. There you have it - nothing bad to say about the hotel. Ok it's got 4 stars instead of 5, but at this price who cares?

Very disappointing. Our 'Club Room' was drab and depressing - like staying the night in Philip Larkin's head. Basic toiletries, grubby bathroom, and the breakfast was woeful - everything in the hot buffet was stewed or overcooked, the specially-ordered 'eggs and soldiers' were hard-boiled, and my Full Scottish was wet, tasteless and contained *half* a slice of black pudding. I said that I wasn't very pleased with my experience when I checked out, and was met with little in the way of interest. In short, I won't be returning, and I'll be warning off anyone who enquires about it.

This hotel is situated right in the centre of Glasgow at St. George's Square and next to Queen St. Train Station. An excellent hotel which I would highly recommend to anyone, with easy access to Glasgow's main shopping areas. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and, with Georgios Bar next door what more could one ask for.

The millenium looks grand from the outside and in the lobby but unfortunately the rooms don't live up to the expectation. We had a club room, which was large with a separate living room. This came with access to the club lounge which had free internet access and drinks available. All in all an okay hotel with a great location.

This was our first trip away, minus children for months and although it was short we really enjoyed it. Staff throughout the hotel were smiley and welcoming, would stay again, especially with such a good room rate.

Conveniently located in the centre of the city and next to Queen Street station this hotel was ideally situated for shops, restaurants and nightlife. Our allocated room was very spacious and very comfortable bed. The only small fault was the reception of the television channels which were very snowy..

Location: If you are travelling to Glasgow Queen Street train station then this is ideal, literally fall out of the station into the side entrance 10m away.Room: Was all we needed, bed was comfy and clean, air con kept the room nice and cool and bathroom was spanking clean, spotty dog. Also to note, you can leave your luggage after checking out and collect later, very handy for heavy travelers We didn't eat here as there are many other places near by and you right in the middle of townOverall, decent price paid for a very comfortable room, definitely wouldn't hesitate coming here again.

The room was perfect for an overnight stay - clean, comfortable and excellent value for money at £79.00. It may have proved a bit small for anyone staying for an extended period. We did not eat at the hotel on this ocassion.

Having stayed at the manchester, merryhill and london hotels in this chain, we found the room very disappointing. The furniture, decor and bathroom whilst very clean, it was also old, tired and in need of redecorating. The airconditioning was also poor. Loved the ciry of Glasgow but would choose another hotel next time.

Friendly staff, superb location for people watching on George Square, easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, entertainment, great food. On the downside, the aircon in the room was hardly effective, the room itself was tired and furniture had seen better days. No broadband (cabled or wireless) in the rooms, wireless (very slow, very expensive) was available in the bar and public areas. I'd stay again for a weekend away but wouldn't use the hotel for business travel.
