Excellent location, just in front of the Kyoto train stations and the Tourist promotion board is just the corner. The hotel was lovely and clean and staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. Although the price was a bit high, I would definitely stay at Hotel Granvia Kyoto again.

Excellent location, right above train station. Rooms and service were top notch. Stayed on the 15th floor, which had super views of the city. Staff were always helpful and polite. Was easy to hop on buses to explore the city. I spent 5 days at this hotel and will stay there again when I am back in Kyoto.

Excellent service at this hotel and great location ! Our stay there was memorable. We will come back to this hotel next year with our children. The architecture of the hotel within the Kyoto Station is really incredible and amazing. Great establishement and wonderful staff, very professional and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel. It's got large, comfortable, well appointed rooms. It has a friendly staff that bends over backwards to serve. And, it's located in the incredible Kyoto station, with central access to JR, Subway, and Bus lines. This is the best thing going in Kyoto.

Outstanding property - great location, super helpful staff, exceptional (ly large for Japan) room, convenient to railway station, many shops and restaurants

Excellent Hotel. Location over station means luggage transfer is easy from train, while bus station outside means all the shrines are easily accessible. Wonderful, high quality restaurants in the hotel. Excellent economy food available in the shopping malls associated with the station.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable and quiet. Very prompt and courteous service. The guest relations desk was very useful in arranging for tours, answering questions, etc.Lots of places to eat at the hotel and within 5 minutes walk. Connected to a shopping center. But the main feature was the location. The Kyoto JR station also served as a hub for the other railroad lines in Kyoto as well as for the subway and the wonderful bus network they have there. Very easy to get around. Would definitely stay there again if back in Kyoto.

Kyoto can be difficult to navigate and this place makes it easy because everyone knows how to get to the Kyoto train station where the hotel is located. However, the food at the hotel restaurants was overpriced and awful --for example curried gristle on the very expensive buffet with some other inedible items. The linens and bathroom were clean but the rugs were FILTHY. I spoke with another guest in the elevator who asked me whether I had a problem with dirty floors--so it was not just my room. I would go there again, but only because of where it was.

HOtel Granvia is located in the ultra modern Train station which is a tourist destination in itself. The hotel was superb, rooms were large and comfy and the price -midweek special was a steal. ONly downside was having to pay for use of gym and pool and a bit far to the tourist areas. Highly recommended.

We spent six nights at the Hotel Granvia and found it to be very comfortable and conveniently located above the Kyoto Station. Although many of the things we wanted to see and do were not within walking distance, there was ample, convenient public transportation available. Our room, which was on the 11th floor, was large and airy with a large picture window and a nice view. The beds had down comforters, and we were provided with slippers and japanese cotton bathrobes. The lighting was excellent for reading. The bathroom was comparable to those in American hotels but had the added feature of a heated toilet seat! We also had one in our Tokyo hotel. The restaurants were very expensive, so we only had one dinner at the hotel (at the sushi restaurant, which was very good), and had dessert and coffe a couple evenings at the coffee shop off the hotel lobby. The hotel was fairly pricey, but I would certainly recommend it to travelers who prefer to travel in comfort.
