I am surprised to read some of the comments about the distance from the hotel car park to the hotel entrance. Did the people not see the signs pointing out the LIFT directly from the car park to the hotel lobby? I have just returned from a most enjoyable weekend at the hotel and had no problems whatsoever. Will definitely be returning again.

The lift system is very poor and lets the hotel down .Getting to and from the carpark was terrible .It was quicker to walk round to the hotel than spend ten minutes going up and down in a lift!

Relaxing break!Although this hotel was virtually in the centre of Harrogate it was very peaceful and quiet. Within close walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Easy to drive to with excellent secure parking.

Firstly the hotel booked us in for the wrong date, then refused to remedy the issue. We ended up having to re-book and pay twice ! Reception was appalling - having booked a twin room, we were allocated the wrong room 3 times, either single rooms or wrong rooms. Also 2 out of 3 lifts were totally broken, whilst the 3rd one was malfunctioning. Many guests were therefore left waiting and dissatisfied. I would certainly not recommend this hotel to anybody.

late rooms - late entryMy wife and I had to wait 2 hours to access room, due to a glitch on hotel's part. However, the duty manager Shamile (?) resolved this to our satisfaction. She was very professionnal while also very welcoming and understanding. The room was all we needed, nice bathroom, comfortable beds. Extra pillows provided as requested. Only black mark was overflow in bathroom sink was grubby. Would use hotel again.

We were lucky enough to be staying at a time when the weather was very warm - late June. Unfortunately there's no air conditioning in the bedrooms. We had to sleep with the window open and there was quite a bit of traffic noise. However, our room was spacious and the enormous bed was very comfortable. We had one evening meal which we enjoyed. Special word of praise for the barman, who replaced our draught beer not long after we had started it, as he wasn't satisfied with the quality. Pity there was no porridge for breakfast but otherwise very good. The hotel is well situated to explore the centre of Harrogate on foot and parking in the underground car-park is very convenient. Also made a good base for touring the surrounding area.

Clean & EffiecentA good standard for a Holiday Inn. There was a conference on in town so they allocated a security guard to only allow guests to park in the Holiday Inn Car Park, a great idea otherwise I would have had to park at least half a mile away. I attended my meeting and following dinner checked in at 23:30 without any hassle, I would recommend this hotel

Just Wanted a Clean Efficient Hotel With a Good Restrant - butCobwebs around the window frame in our room - room decorated with paint over existing wall paper - general decor dull and dated. Restaurant staff could not wait to get us out - dinner and breakfast. Not offered coffee after dinner and breakfast table cleared whilst visiting self service counter.

mum and daughter bonding trip - newby hall food/craft fair w/endLarge standard room - slightly off the beaten track; gym used - small/OK for connoisseur daughter and perfect for a little space and read of the paper- at a cost?Beds good/bathroom good. Car parking a little weird/feel hotels should, by definition give car parking for free (because how else would you get there as a leisure visitor-added revenue for hotel?) and on-site preferably.

Holiday Inn ReviewExactly what you would expect from a large hotel - efficient and friendly staff, lots of facilities, typical rooms, nice bar. Breakfast was the highlight - help youreslf to a wide range of choice. The only complaint would be parking - the car park is a few minutes walk and there is a fee.

VFM HotelGood VFM..Limited car parking space for size of hotel.Small charge of five pounds per day parking .Next door to international centre and close to centre of attractions.

Car Parking was the only problem - too distant - too small

Central location and pleasant outlook. Perhaps a little tired and in need of a makeover, but comfortable and generally OK. The overflow to the sink looked as if it had never been cleaned. The aerial plug to the (not flat-screen!) TV was faulty and we had to fix it. Given HI's prices, not great value for money.

i booked a double room for myself and partner and when we finally went to sleep that night ! only to find that the bed was 2 single beds put together , which added to a very uncofortable nights sleep as it was too late in the evening to change a room , and in the morning when we checked out , and mentioned that the bed was NOT A DOUBLE BED but 2 singles the reply was there is a sheet on the bed to make it into one , not a very good excuse i am still having back problems after the nights stay , if you book a double room ( a double bed ) you should expect to sleep in a double bed not 2 single beds pushed together

good hotel for location, bedroom adequate, bathroom nice. breakfast much better than used to be.although hotel generally clean, there were wine and beer bottles lying on the floor of the corridor to our room that the staff walked past for 2 days.

Fee and Priority PassThere are two items I am not happy about:1) I am disappointed that the price did not include breakfast2) I am a PriorityPass customer, and did not have my card with me, and the hotel was unable to find my details - at Hilton hotels the receptionist can find customer details in seconds

Excellent experience, one which we will be repeating.
