Excellent service. Small single room, but it was a late booking.The personal service was exceptional, couldn't fault it. My room was very small in the corner of the building on the first floor (# 26) but still had everything I needed. The ceilings were high and the main staircase has a beautiful stained glass window half way up it.The breakfast was very good. The cooked Yorkshire breakfast was quick yet very hot. The eggs were spot on, not oily with the yolks runny. The sausages were particularly nice and seemed straight out of a luxury pack, not something you'd expect to buy in bulk and serve at breakfast.The price was good too. At times you wonder why this place isn't a 4 star as the service and food was superior to some 4 stars I've been to. While parking was tight it was still doable.Would recommend again.

Very comfortable stay This is such a nice friendly comfortable hotel. Great food. We had a really nice evening meal beautifully served. Could have been a 5 star restaurant. Breakfast just as good. Definitely reccommend a say here.

We booked the Ascot Hotel two days prior to our stay, and it was a truly wonderful experience. We had a standard room that has put other standard rooms in other hotels to shame. Really comfortable room, even had an electric blanket fitted, not that we needed it in July, but we have never had this facility in any other hotel that we have stayed. We didn't eat in the restaurant for our evening meal but once we had experienced the breakfast we wished that the we had, Excellent breakfast, excellent service, nothing too much trouble, staff were wonderful. Would definately recommend this hotel, would definately stay here again.

Lovely hotel, great breakfast. My only gripe is that the single room I was in could have done with some updating and the reception on the TV was awful...not good when you are trying to watch tennis!

First class standards of service - nothing too much trouble. Room spotlessly clean; bathroom beautiful. Only very minor criticism - fitted furniture in bedroom a little dated (to be fair, the proprieter has only owned the hotel a year so I'm sure this will be addressed in due course).

Weekend awayThe hotel is in a nice setting not too far to walk, and close to all ameneties. Very welcoming and hospital staff, rooms ample and nice atmosphere to the whole hotel. Would def stay again if in Harrogate.

A pleasant stay with helpful staffWe stayed for one night only having travelled a long distance to attend a wedding. We were made to feel most welcome by the staff. Breakfast was excellent and prepared to order. Fresh fruit offered which is always a good sign. We would definitely book this hotel again.

Not so superior roomWe paid for a superior room and expected to find ourselves in one like in the picture, but the room was tiny and difficult to move around in. When we questioned the guy at the desk he said that was the superior room. As well, we couldn't find anything to eat except for take away Indian a few blocks away - no restaurants within cooee. That aside, everything worked in the room and the breakfast was lovely.

Certainly accomodating and if I could only cook half as well!Throughout my stay, the staff made me feel very much at home. They could not be helpful enough, nothing is a problem at this establishment and they were all so cheerful! The food was lovely, I didn't have pudding but the ones I saw looked devine! As for my room, it was always spotlessly tidy and very clean every day when I returned, fresh towels were always offered and the bed extremely comfortable.

Nothing was too much trouble, we needed to change to go to a wedding in Harrogate at 1pm, no problem the room was ready on our arrival.Thge owners were very pleasant, the hotel is clean and superbly furnished and the breakfast was excellent.We will certainly stay there again

A gem in the centre of HarrogateA warm welcome was proferred as we approached the door. THe room was well appointed and very clean. The quality of the food in the restaurant for dinner was exceptional and terrific value. Breakfast was similarly excellent. The service was very competent, correct and friendly. Would readily recommend to all discerning travellers.

Great short-break hotelThe hotel is well placed, with just a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The staff were all cheerfull and helpfull. Breakfast was a nice full English which certainly set us up for the rest of the day. The room was well furnished and included free wireless internet access and LCD tv with freeview. The only negative comment I have is about the size of the room. Athough we had a \"superior\" double it didn't really feel all that large (unless you count the high ceiling). But, given that the hotel was originally a Victorian family home, I'd imagine that there are a variety of rooms sizes and layouts with some being larger than others.All in all, a clean, comfortable, pleasant stay and we'd be happy to recommend it

Excellent hotel!Taking a last minute boking we found nothing to fault at this lovely hotel. We took a superior room which was spacious and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. The evening meal was of a high standard and the service was just right! We look forward to returing soon on our next visit to Harrogate.
