My experience with this hotel was great. The people at the front desk are very friendly. I'd definitely stay here again. The rooms are a bit small though.

Great location, free bike hire and internet, highly recommended for this price.

Hearton was pleasant 4 star style accomodation, quiet, clean, had free internet & bike hire, and cheaping self-serve laundry.A choice of Japanese or Western cuisine was also available which was convenient, and there are a handful of nearby restaurants. It is well located in a quiet side street just near Karasuma Oike metro, which is just 3 stations from JR Kyoto. You could reasonably walk from here to nearby attractions Sanjo dori,Imperial palace & Nijo palace, and even Pontoncho, Gion (probably ~30minutes walk each way). It is also well served by bus & train to sites further afield.

We stayed at a twin bed room. which is good enough for us who travel with our son as well. The Hotel is easy to find and near to the station. Room consider big in Japan standard. Very convenience to hunt for the food during the night. Many 24 hours minimart around the Hotel...like Lawson, 7 eleven etc.

Great value for the heart of Kyoto. The bikes were fabulous, food good, twin rooms much larger than double. Would stay again.

The Hearton was the best hotel we stayed at during our trip in this price range. The bed was a double bed as intended instead of a semidouble, the room was clean, the breakfast (costing an extra 1000 yen) was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I loved this hotel!!!! Great breakfast buffet, very close to the subway entrance. Would definitely stay there again.

Very new, nice clean room.

We had a twin room which was really comfortable. Twin rooms are larger than double. The staff were very helpful and as we found all over Japan extremely polite. Free internet as with most hotels we stayed in plus washing machines available. Would stay here again.

Our family stayed in Hearton Hotel for 3 days and we were very pleased with the accommodation. Our room was very neat and the towels were really white and nice smelling. The staff services were prompt, polite and very helpful in terms of getting around and hailing a cab and getting train schedules. The location is another plus factor as it is near bus stops, train stations and tourist sites such as the Njio Castle, Imperial Palace, Heian Jingu Temple, and the Kyoto University. The buffet breakfast, reasonably priced at 800 yen per person, is a combination of Japanese and American food. Hearton hotel is highly recommended.

Functional, but not the most pleasant place to stay

When we visit Kyoto we always stay at the Hearton. It is most satisfactory. We like the fact that we can park our car - afeature which is very rare in Kyoto. It costs but it can be done. It is a very reasonable place to stay.

A good hotel in a great location. Friendly staff who willingly answer questions, provide advice, and make you stay in Kyoto a pleasant one.

No bus services in the vicinity.

Convenient and quiet location: walking distance from some major turistic spots. Spacious room(s) for Japanese standard: would recommend twin instead of double. Choice of Japanese or Western breakfast. Good value for money.

We found the Hearton to be a good honest hotel that suited our holiday needs well - it isn't a luxury 5 star stay but for what it is it does the job very well

Very conveniently located near subway. Staff very helpful with good English. Buffet Breakfast good value .

Easy to reach by subway or bus from Kyoto Station. Room was typically compact but efficient (like a cruise ship cabin) and we were there to see Kyoto, not the inside of the hotel. Be sure to look at website maps and hotel photos before going as the entrance is on a narrow steet and may be a little difficult to see if it's dark when you first arrive.

Nice hotel with an excellent location near a subway-hub. (The only thing I miss is a more comfortable bar.)
