The 15 islands that compose the Côn Đảo archipelago are mostly uninhabited, with the exception of the largest island, Côn Sơn. Once the site of prisons, Côn Sơn has transformed into a relaxed island with beautiful beaches including the popular Đầm Trầu Beach and the quieter Lo Voi Beach.
These islands are full of wildlife, including many endemic species, and Hòn Bảy Cạnh offers the opportunity to watch turtles nesting during the wet season. If you prefer underwater wildlife, go diving for a chance to see stingrays, eels and even dugongs.
Many of the restaurants on the island, such as the excellent Thu Ba Restaurant, focus on the island’s fresh seafood. Treat yourself at The Six Senses Con Dao restaurant, as it caters to those looking for an upscale experience.
There are multiple flights daily from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport to Côn Sơn. The flight takes about one hour, with many of the island’s hotels offering airport transfers.
