Everything from the golf, beach, marina and restaurants are most convenient. Have traveled to every beach in North and South Carolina, this is now our favorite and will return every year.

It was like staying in the lap of luxury! Nothing! Getting this great price for the Wild Dunes resort was beyond my wildest expectations. I was hoping for a better rate on the only beach front hotel I could find on the internet, and Priceline got me a 5 Diamond Resort that far exceeded anything else available on the Isle of Palms and something I never even considered was possible.

The Inn is lovely. We purchased a package on travel website and to my knowledge it only included a standard hotel room, but we were upgraded to a suite without even having to ask! Don't bother with valet parking - it just takes too much time to wait for your car. You can easily walk over the the garage under the Villages and park your own car - it's all free.

Just got back from a great weekend at Wild Dunes Resort. Friendly courteous staff, excellent value, clean rooms, great food, and beautiful beaches. What more could you ask for? They have a TON of activities for adults & children. I would most definitely stay at this resort again and recommend it to my friends.

Wild Dunes is a HUGE resort. They have a lot to offer, including a myriad of activities. Would be great for a family. Went into Charleston a few times, distance was further than anticipated. (25-30 min.) Tennis facilities were great, but since all courts are outside, rain can be a problem. The best part is the beach proximity. The sand there was soft, the water temp. amazing & the shells were lovely. There were some negatives that put a damper on things. Our villa was really disappointing. Overall the place was dated & rough around the edges. The master bath & kitchen were the big problems though. The bathroom was small & seemed like it couldn't ever be clean. ( The bathtub/shower reminded us of what you find in a bad roadside motel. Cheap & stained, where your feet stick to the bottom.) The kitchen had all kinds of unfinished or poorly done installations. For instance, the cabinet that wouldn't open because the blinds were hung in front of it, the dishwasher that "rocked" because it wasn't actually attached to anything, the vent hood that was angled so the light blinds you instead of helping you. (The lighting was pretty bad in there & you needed the stove light.) If I were staying there for free, I wouldn't make a peep. However, one of the reasons we go on vacation is to get away from some of these nuisances. So, know that if you book a villa or home here that it's luck of the draw. This is someones vacation home which may or may not be well taken care of.

Having the beach right there is wonderful! Staff seemed disorganized at times. We were looking for a great getaway for our anniversary - good location with a chance to play tennis. The tennis clinics were a little disappointing but the location and ability to spend two afternoons on the beach was wonderful - very relaxing.

My wife wanted to stay at a "Resort" rather than a hotel. I learned that "Resort" means expect to pay - a lot. Not only is the hotel expensive, they tack on "resort" fee. I never found out what that was for. We stayed 4 nights at the Boardwalk Inn. The hotel is very nice and the room large & comfortable. The hotel is all valet parking & in a gated community at the end of the island, all designed to encourage you stay on the property & pay their ridiculously high prices. No complimentary breakfast (or even coffee) in this place. Plan on spending in the dining room. You can go to the "market" which is owned by the resort so that is expensive too. The hotel has a very nice pool area, but to get to the beach, you have to go down the boardwalk which is a bit of a hike. The beach is very nice, sandy & wide, thanks to mother nature. The golf course, tennis & bike rentals ar all very conviently located near the hotel. The fitness center is large & well equiped, but still not enough machines for the guests that wanted to use it. Plan on about a 20-25 minute into downtown Charleston, depending on traffic. I probably wouldn't stay again. For my money, I'd prefer to get a condo on a less-exclusive development, where I could walk out to the beach.

The Golf Courses were wonderful. It had the widest beach area we have ever experienced. The room was top notch.

The location is very close to the beach and the resort amenities; plus a newer room. The villages building is not designed well for beach vacationers. The villages property were we stayed was new, clean and designed with upscale attractive finishes. If I were traveling for business it would have been perfect. However, for a beach side hotel, I was frustrated that the windows did not open, there was no balcony, no were to hang a bath towel, no less a beach towel. The proximity to tennis, golf, swimming and the little village shops for dining and activities was nice. The swimming pool areas were not up to snuff. There were no elegant touches and it appeared repairs were needed.

Beautiful location, great service, friendly and helpful staff. They really work to make your stay exactly as you want it. Beautiful ocean front property, 5 pools on resort. Hotel restaurant provides room service from an excellent menu. Many local attractions to visit and more than ample golf and tennis on resort. Village amenities are expanding to include a Market and full service Spa. Guests can arrange just about anything through resort guest services. This was our 2nd visit to the resort and we plan to return on a regular basis.

fine place, just not 5 stars as advertised. skip the restaurants, there are better ones in the surronding area.

Great pool, easy access to beach. This is a luxurious and private resort. It has three great pools and is a short walk to a wide and uncrowded beach.

Whatever you do, steer clear of "brunch". My dining experiences at Wild Dunes were miserable, save for the sports bar at the golf course. The worst experience, by far, was the champagne brunch which consisted of a small selection of unappetizing foods and an expensive "champagne/bloody mary" bar (8 for a shot of vodka, then mix your own bloody mary). The a la carte type of experience at the Wild Dunes Resort ensures that they'll get you to pay through the nose for everything you do. 20/day for a beach chair? 55 for the family to use the fitness center (which was smaller than a 1 room apartment and equally as poorly furnished). Find a rental property on the water outside of the resort and you'll likely be happier with having spent less money...

Nice resort. We stayed in 3 BR Villa...it was a 3 BR, 3 Bath condo. We had initially booked a 2 BR, but were given a 3 BR. I assume that since we checked in late, all of the 2 BR condo's were taken. Our condo location was excellent...right on the beach. We stayed in Shipwatch D...room 426. The room was a little dated....about time to update. We really liked the resort & will possibly try a house or The Village suites next time.

Very friendly, helpful staff. We could hear the people in the room next to us. Staff very friendly and helpful.Rooms not well insulated and not as nice as some 3 star hotels where we have stayed. Only one elevator so coming and going was lengthy.

This hotel is centrally located, and a great value. Staff is most friendly and helpful. Rooms are large, and service is good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone vacationing in Charleston.

The beach was nicer than I had expected. A very tal person might have trouble standing up in parts of the villa due to low ceilings. The mirrors were hung low so that a 6 foot person had to bend to comb their hair. The Sheet didn't fit the bed. Kept coming off all night. Hard to sleep that way.

Staff were sincerely interested in making sure you had a good time. It was all great. No complaints.

Our stay was great. We can't wait to return to this resort. The only thing they could do better was have some more dining options. The one sit down restaurant was good but the quick deli's were over priced with very small portions. We ended up driving into town (about 10 minutes away) for most of our food.

The one bedroom villa where we stayed had a wonderful view of the ocean and was also next to the pool. However it was too cold to swim.
