Dining:
The restaurant offers a range of dishes. There is also a bar which also offers light meals and drinks, and the cocktail bar is an ideal place for evening drinks.

Room was very small for an executive room and there was no air con - had to rely on a fan.Dinner was good and staff coped very well when there was a leak from an upstairs bathroom into the dining room! We were all decamped into the bar to continue with our meals - it got people talking to each other.Breakfast however was not so great for vegetarians and table clearing was slow.

Hotel reviewThe only thing missing was air conditoning.

Standard double room was small with no air con and the fan provided was little use. Buffet breakfast was good, but not great - lacked variety. Only one staff on reception at checkout time! However, hotel refurbished to a high standard - very very impressed. And best value in town - couldn't find another hotel at this standard in such a good location for that price. Would definitely stay here again for that reason only. Anywhere else is just an unnecessary waste of money given the small amount of time actually in the hotel (awake that is).

Single business stopoverVery convenient for City Centre and Railway Station.Slight disappointment with tariff for an internet connection. Meant I went out for a meal, where I could get wifi incl! To cater for business travellers, this should be a must have at a rate to compete with say roaming wifi at £2 to £5 a dayOn the other hand I forgot my shaver and was provided a complimentary one. Thanks.

Although this hotel was booked in December we were put in a small attic room on the 5th floor this was not 4 star standard. The rest of the hotel was refurbished to a high standard but the 5th floor was only worth a 2 star rating. Very dissapointed as this was a special birthday treat.

Lacklustre and TiredWe stayed at The Metropole for just one night, I was travelling with my two children. The hotel is in desperate need of airconditioning! Our room was average but extremely hot, window only opened a few inches and even though the evening was mild it was stiffling. I am glad we were only staying for one night, anymore and we would have checked out. Breakfast was expensive and very mediocre. A percentage of the hotel has been refurbished and the other part extremely dated. I am sorry but would not stay here again, in fact had they offered me money back after seeing our room I would have cancelled and stayed elsewhere.

Would stay there again. Only problem with location is if you miss the car park, due to one way system. Is in centre of city but did not have a problem with noise (Friday night, room on the fourth floor).

The barWasn't happy about the services only being geared up for card users. I prefer to pay for things in cash, as I don't have a credit/ debit card, and most hotels I have stayed at accept cash as you check out. So I won't be staying here again for this reason alone. The bar is open all night for residents, but I was informed that you could only pay cash for drinks up until 11 then they need to put it on your card. I went back to the bar for a second drink at 10:45, I was ignored by the supervisor for a few minutes even though he clearly saw me, only to be told after my wait that the bar doesn't take cash any more. Had I been informed that the guy was going to come and cash up early, I would have gone to get my second drink before. Had I not been ignored this would have not been as annoying. The bar is over priced too, even for a hotel. having said this the reception staff were very polite and helpful when I checked in. the rooms were nice, and very clean. The extra room cost to include breakfast was reasonably priced I thought at £3.50 and the standard of the breakfast was good to say what the price was.

Very busy as several conferences were going on - there was no lounge space for me to sit in the morning. Also had a very noisy room - directly opposite the lift. Everything else was good - with friendly staff

Great hotel. Only problem was the rubbish lorry emptying the recycled glass containers in the middle of the night. Very noisy.

modern feelThis hotel had been greatly improved in decor and attitude since I last stayed there when the hotel was under different ownership. It has a very clean and crisp feel to the rooms and communal areas. The bedrooms are well equiped nd he beds have a soft luxurious feel.Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms provide good value when booked under bargain deals. The availability of car parking isa real bonus for a city centre hotel.Good ventilation from windows which can be opened makes up for a lack of air conditioning. Our only problem was the poor sound-proofing between floors with creaky floorboards, heavy feet and loud voices from elderly occupants of the room above proving disturbing at 5am.!

stay at the Met Leeds Hoteli recently stayed at the Met leeds in one of the executive suites, i booked this for my girlfriend as a suprise get away for her birthday. The hotel was ideal as it was only a five minuite walk from the teain station and about the same to the city centre. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff.on entering the room i was very suprised it was very spacious and very clean and had everything we needed. definately one of the nicest hotels i've stayed in.It was our first time in leeds and the staff were very helpful in telling us the best places to go and where to see.I would definately come back to this hotel again and will be recomending it to friends and family

relaxingThe hotel was pleasant we enjoyed our brief stay it was local and accessible to all amenities. The annoying part was the limited parking and 10 pound charge for the privilege of a tiny car park.after over coming the petty irritation of looking for alternative parking space we found the location fab!

Enjoyable stay...The hotel is only about 5-8 mins walk to the city centre, in a quiet location.Downside - paying 10 quid for 24 hr stay in their tiny car park. However, they let us stay from 2pm-6pm free, then told us we could park opposite in a side street, FREE after 6pm and all day on Sunday.Didn't have breakfast there. We walked to Yates's bar, about 5-8 mins walk, turning left as you leave the hotel, then left again. Fab breakfast in Yates's and cheap as well.Leeds is a massive area to shop in. Leeds indoor market is massive and there is an outdoor market behind it too, loads of bargains.....Would stay at the Met Hotel in future.

Nice people nice hotel but very poor roomWe booked for 2 nights including a 3 course evening meal and breakfast both mornings. The room was supposed to be a new contemporary layout. Room was clean but not a very friendly room(by this I mean that room was like in 2 parts neither very large so felt strange) We had problems that the room was like a sauna and although hotel provided an extra fan room heat made stay uncomfatable, hotel did not offer any alternative nor resolve the problem, they just politely said sorry and nothing they could do! However food and restaurant were fantastic!

Don't botherSmall, poorly ventilated room without air conditioning. Don't bother calling the front desk, most times no one answers the phone.

The hotel was very nice and good value. The only unexpected thing was that the rooms are not air-conditioned as the building is heritage listed. This made the room very hot during the day.

The Met Hotel - LeedsI got a single room for £40 which was fantastic value! The room was quite small but acceptable for the fee. A few things could change (1) provide larger desks .. as business man the desk was too small to work on (give that it housed the TV, very big phone and other bits and bobs) (2) the shower is housed over the bath and very difficult to get in and out of given a toilet has been placed almost up against the bath and a glass splash door fixed so that you have to manouver your way around the toilet while climbing into the bath/showe - not good! (3) the room was quite hot (even on the cooler day I stayed) .. perhaps fit ceiling fans.Despite the above it is a lovely hotel in a good part of town and I would stay again.
