Hotel staff and accommodations were excellent, but we later found out we paid too much for a taxi to downtown (arranged by the bellman).

The hotel is VERY safe. Has a friendly staff working in the reception. The rooms are large and clean. Our room had 2 double beds, internet connection by cable, and had much light making it good for reading. On the top floor of the hotel there is a a small swimming pool, and not to forget a rotating restaurant. The view from there is fantastic. We where not very impressed by the breakfast buffet, neither of the staff working in the breakfast lounge. They seemed to have now interests in their hotel guests and where not at all service minded. But don't let that ruin your stay at the hotel. We extended our stay at the hotel with a week as we were given a good discount staying a little longer. We can very much recommend this hotel.

This hotel was built in 1991 and it appears nothing has been fixed or updated since then. The rooms were dirty, had bad odors and the internet did not function properly. I would not recommend this hotel to other travelers.

The Taj Mahal Hotel is in the center of Manaus. The room was relatively large however somewhat rundown. The hairdryer didn't work from the first day on and I couldn't get it fixed during my stay of 3 days. The bathroom was old and outdated. No internet connection in the room however wireless connection in the hotel lobby. Breakfast buffet was up to 10 am, however the only time I wanted to go the buffet was cleared off already at 9.40 am.
