My boyfriend and I came for vacation, the hotel as an extremely bad odor when you walk in that smells like an old nursing home. Elevators are really old and smell just as bad as the lobby. Rooms are very small and the carpet is dirty. I read reviews about the place having bed bugs and it is so true!! I slept on top of the comforter my entire stay with my own blanket and was still attacked by bedbugs!! I am still using medication to heal all of the bites. My toliet kept getting clogged and I had to stay on the front desk about having someone come fix it. The best thing about the hotel is that it has a great location to the beach and the shopping center! It is also conviently located beside a liquor store and really close to a cvs and walgreens so u can pick up supplies you forgot. If your not gonna be in your room much this hotel maybe ok for u just bring sanitizer for the bed and your own blankets!!

The room was spacious. Bugs stuck on the wall. Filthy halls. It was not a good experience. The room was somewhat dirty but spacious and beds comfortable The big problem was when water started pouring through our bathroom ceiling. The staff did not come up, rather told us to turn off the A.C. for a while. Many of our things were ruined in the bathroom where the leak occurred. They did nothing to compensate our losses.

Bit tatty and run down hotel, with a leaking roof on the top floor, where we staid. "In House" air co makes a lot of noise and leaks into the room. Most of the lobby personnel seemed not very interested in the guests... Elevator was last checked and inspected in 2006, safety document expired in 2007! Ehhhh..... Overall a very average hotel with poor room facilities and extremely 'squeaky' (noise making) beds. Will not stay here again!

Old and rundown, nothing in the room worked, uncomfortable and not clean

Don't even bother with this. It is a pit. You can do so much better for the same money. The rooms look terrible. Dirty, broken light fixtures etc. The rooms are extremely noisy. The traffic on Collins Ave. can heard in the rooms halfway to the back. We checked out early and went to the Penguin on Ocean Drive. "

Um, the hotel wasn't horrible, but it wasn't what we expected. It was very tiny and old. There was no temperature control in the rooms and it got really cold at night. The best thing was the location to Ocean Dr. and Lincoln Rd. and the close parking deck.

I stayed here for five nights and to be frank, I was a little worried when I first saw the room, but all things considered, it wasn't too bad. There was a strong bleach/chlorine smell, but that could have been the pool outside my window. Location was perfect, and I wasn't there to stay in my room all day, so I have no complaints.

Just what we wanted and expected, close to the beach and night life. Good place to stay after our cruise. Wish we could have stayed a few more nights, lots to see and do!!!!

The San Juan is a great place to drop off your stuff and hit South Beach or other close attractions. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is clean and the staff is friendly. The location is great, within walking distance of South Beach and the Filmore (formerly the Jackie Gleason Theater). The only bad thing about our stay was the towels were old and scratchy (bring your own), one of the beds was cripplingly uncomfortable (the other was fine in our double room) and the TV had a a weird buzzing noise on some of the channels. We did not come to stay in our hotel room.

The San Juan Hotel was very nice. It was clean, smells good and the hotel apperance was nice. The pool is good for when you get tired of the beach and sand, and it was a good size. The hotel is pretty close to everything especially the Lincoln Mall and the beach. There are also many clubs near the hotel. Everything is in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and anything that you need help with they will help as best as possible. I would definately come back and recommend it as a place to stay.

The hotel was awful -- it smelled bad, it was dilapidated and there was NO parking. Additionally, there were homeless people all around the area (some visibly intoxicated and others begging for money). The shops and restaurants were much, much too far to walk.

San Juan at South Beach was not expensive at all. It was clean and i dont understand all the negative things said about this hotel. The check in was super fast, the staff was super friendly. I was inches away from the beach and restaurants and addition to the best clubs like Mynt and Set. The pool is not huge but it was clean and it was in a great location. Walking distance to everthing practically, down the same block you have a CVS, Walgreens, and Burger King if you want a quick way to eat and if you need anything that you might have forgotten. All in all it is not a horrible place and believe me, me and my friends can not stay in a dirty, falling down place.

The San Juan Hotel located at 1680 Collins Avenue was not what I expected. The room was very small and the bathroom was so tiny only one could fit in at a time. The bathroom contained a sink, shower and toilet. No vanity area. The air conditioning in the room was automatic, so temperature could not be adjusted. It was very cold so my guest and I slept in sweats. The hotel is very old, not historic. The front desk clerk was very pleasant, nice and friendly. He recommended eating locations and which clubs were popular. He also called taxis when needed and gave a wake up call so we wouldn't miss our departure flight. He was nothing but helpful.

With boutiques all over the place, this was very clean and inexpensive option.

The hotel was well located in the South Beach area, close to the boardwalk and beach. Our only problem was that the neighboring room was extremely loud (we could here absolutely all of their loud conersation) until the early morning hours. The night manager was not at all responsive to complaints about this. All in all, a good lower cost option if you are staying for one night en route to a cruise line or other vacation option.

This hotel was great for the location but it was horribly gross. I couldn't expect too much for the price but I did expect the room to be CLEAN. The bathroom was HORRIFYING! There was mold on the ceiling, behind the sink, and in the tub. I felt like I had to wear a wet suit in order to take a shower god forbid go to the bathroom.
