One of the oldest Taormina hotels, the San Domenico Palace Hotel was once a monastery. Located in the city center, surrounded by a garden, it is within walking distance of the ruins of the Greek theate, the Cathedral of San Nicolò, the Sanctuary of Madonna della Rocca, the Corvaja Palace, and the Ciampoli Palace. Taormina is sandwiched between Messina in the north and Catania in the south, connected by the A18 motorway. Trains and buses serve the city. The airport is Fontanarossa in Catania, about an hour’s drive away. Public transport is convenient for the San Domenico Palace Hotel.
