Room clean and neat. Power out in area for most of visit so many things could not be evaluated. No one on duty from evening to mid-morning. Still, a good bang for the buck.

The motel was close to dowtown. Too much furniture for the size of the room. This is a 1950's style motel, whichwas being remodeled.

I always stay here when i visit friends in Chico. Its an older motel but the rooms are spacios the showers are hot, the room is warm , the sheets are changed everyday. The owner is a great guy and it may be a little old and showing age but hey the price is excellent. Its in a safe area never ever any trouble, clean, right near 24 hour hot coffee and take away foods, and all nite service stations all within 200 yards safe lit walking on main drag also dinners . So any time you can go out and get all you need. What more do you want from a motel?? Fully recommend Safari.

It was cheap and not too far from the downtown area. Lamps were missing bulbs and it looked a little dingy. It was the cheapest place I could find and I got what I paid for. They were able to bring a fridge and microwave into my room. I was also allowed to check in 1 hour early.

I was thoroughly dissapointed. I know it was cheap, and thus might be too good to be true for the price, trust your instincts, it is too good to be true. The manager was nice, he let us choose a different room if we would like, but all the rooms had the same musty, bad smell and were not very cozy. Don't be super cheap like me, spend the extra 20 bucks and go to the Holiday Inn or something. Don't stay here.

Great price, great location. Small TV in room. Great hotel for the price. TV was small, but room had a fridge, coffee maker and AC/heat. Perfect for the solo traveler!

The room was clean but small. The bed was very stiff.

Location to in-laws. Room was fairly ragged. Alright for the price, but no palace. Built when a small room, a telephone, a shower and a TV were all luxuries to the average American, the motel, through no fault of its own, cannot be any better than it is. If you are a neat freak, or expect to stay somewhere that looks so clean that you'd never suspect that hundreds of thousands of people had at one time or another stayed in the same room, then this place is not for you. I'd stay again just based on the, but not for any aesthetic reasons.

I was pleasantly suprised with this hotel. It had a large bathroom which was perfect for setting up the dog food and water. It was pet friendly for now. I say for now because I watched as dog owners allowed their dogs to relieve and not clean up after them. Very irresponsible. I always travel with a dog because I raise puppies for Guide Dogs For the Blind. Please pet owners let's keep pet friendly places friendly. Clean up after your dog.

I block from the office I was to be at 8 am. The hotel was filthy, mold in shower, floors and baseboards. For the price I guess I could not complain, the staff was pleasant, but the room was filthy, the shower had mold growing on the floor so I did not use them.

I stayed in the biggest room they had. Bed was very comfortable. The bathroom Tub was dirty and the shower curtain had mold on it. They also need to check the coffee maker to remove the filter! otherwise it was quiet. There high speed Internet was great!

Easy check in, easy parking. Great location. Small TV. If traveling to Chico for an event at the u, or a business meeting and traveling by yourself, then I would highly recommend the safari inn. If your looking for something with a view, or a little more romance, swimming pool etc, the this is not the place. Overall,,, it was a great stay for me. Quiet, easy parking, easy check in and out, and a clean room and an affordable price.

My friend was so grossed out that she went without a shower for 2 days. I think THAT was gross. Sure, it wasn't the best - the phones weren't working and when the repairman tried to just barge in while my friend was just in her underwear, I had to slam the door in his face, the shower door jammed on me so I had to kick it open in order to get out, the bathroom window opened up to an RV parked right outside so I was constantly thinking someone was peeping, and it felt funky every time I went to the front desk because the innkeepers live right there so it was like I was barging into their living room every time. But besides that, I didn't think it was bad at all. Enjoy your stay!

The Safari Inn was in a good location and very inexpensive. The pool was very clean and inviting in the 103 degree heat. The bathroom, expecially the shower stall, could have been MUCH cleaner and the shower dripped unless it was shut off so tightly that my daughter couldn't turn it on without my help.

It was centrally located to where we needed to go and was clean. A bit noisy at 6 AM though. NA Hotel was clean and cozy, A little on the small side. It looked as if they put two queen beds in a room that really could not accommodate more than a king at best. The strange looking bug on the bathroom floor was disturbing. It was big. The desk clerk was very nice which helped make it a pleasant experience.

I originally selected the Safari Inn based soley on 2 criteria: low cost, and location (in Chico). Since I was traveling on a limited budget, my expectations were limited at best. I found the Safari Inn to be a good value for the very reasonable rate that was charged. Although it was reminiscent of motel rooms years ago, it had all the basic amenities, including wireless access. In short, clean, quiet, basic lodging. The manager was most pleasant, even with the late hour of my arrival, and upon hearing that the airline had lost my bags, he made sure that I had extra soap and shampoo, too.
