Excellent standardf 3* hotel with many parts recently refurbished. An ideal hotel for those travelling in the North of England and provides good value for money. Although on the outskirts of both York and Leeds, the hotels location enables easy access via the A1. The hotel boasts a swimming pool, health spa, tennis courts and 9 hole pitch and putt course. (GW 10/2008) A one storey grey building, with extensive parking for both cars and coaches. The hotel is located on the A1/A63 junction just a short drive from both Leeds and York city centres. The hotel is located perfectly to explore neighbouring cities, but also has fantastic grounds including a pitch 'n' putt golf course.

Outside needs updating. Other wise Super staff, very clean everywhere, food very good, Nice clean comfortable room with crisp white sheets and fluffy towels. Pool warm and again fluffy large white towels. Excellent weekend stay. Would recommend

Roomreasonable room for the price, but although I upgraded to executive room, it had a damp smell to it. The hotel is somewhat dated.Staff were excellent and I did not try the food so cant comment.Hotel was quiet and location good for Leeds west.

Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Rupert the chef is fantastic and made our meals to request. Home from home.

I was on a tour of the UK and our tour group stopped here for one night. Pulling into the entrance it seemed like a country estate road. When our coach got close enough to see the hotel, I could not beleive it. The hotel looked like modular buildings on stilts. Upon entering the hotel's first floor, the smell of mildew was overwehelming. I do not know if this hotel had been flooded - but it certainly smelled like it. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed at.The hotel is outdated and needs a real fixing up. On a positive note, dinner was great and the rear view from the hotel (not the highway side view) is quite lovely.

Bed lovely and clean, very comfy. room very tired in need of refurb, bathroom 'very' tired with no attention to certain areas with cleanliness. I had a sandwhich which was quie tasty and nicely presented.

An airless hotelOur first room had defective lighting so a change of room was immediately offered. Impressive, However both rooms were rather stuffy with an impossibility of opening the main window. Only the the small top sky light half opened and this was indequate for our comfort. No aircon is available which could have helped refresh the rooms and take out stale air from previous occupants.Also it was not an easy to locate hotel , because the Sat Nav did not recognise where it was situated. The renumbering of the roads around there did not help

Lovey weekend stayThe hotel staff were very helpful and reception staff went out of their way to be not only helpful but extremely friendly as well, especially the young lady that was there for most of our stay. This hotel looks perhaps a little dated from the outside but I could find no fault with the bedrooms and bathroom, they were clean and functional, as were all the reception rooms. The food was good and the breakfast was really excellent. Again the staff going out of their way to provide us with freshly cooked eggs as well as the usual array of breakfast foods. The pool was nice and the towels provided for our swim were large, fluffy and clean. All in all for a 3* hotel at a bargin price it certainly did what it said on the tin!

one night stopoverNoticeably, the staff at this Quality Hotel were very friendly and helpful going above and beyond the call of duty (receptionist lady and gentleman as well as night time gentleman, sorry no names.Hotel was great for an overnight stop, remote location stops it being anything else

The quality hotel was cheap and cheerful. The decor was a little tired and it wasn't as clean as you might expect but the staff are absolute diamonds and made the stay very enjoyable. I would stay here again but only because the staff were so welcoming.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staffNice grounds, nice staff. Evening meal was a disappointment - tepid ,dry and little choice on offer. Would have been concerned if allergic to nuts - tired bakewell tart next to chocolate cake but only one cake server between all sweets.Also in the twin room the television did not work and the bathroom lock jammed, the chef had to break the door down to release my son. No reduction of bill to compensate for this was offered.All things considered, we would stay with Quality Hotels again but probably would just have breakfast.I must mention the lady manning the bar on the Friday night, who could not have been more helpful finding a seat for my elderly mother (the rest taken up by a coach party) and her concern for the comfort of myself and my sons.

Well placedWe used the hotel as a base for touring North Yorkshire. Only an hour to Pickering and the N Y Moors railway. The bar snacks are superb value and the swimming pool an added bonus. Overall a good value stay.

Exellent AccomadationThis is definatly a hotel to stay at for a short break or as a stop over on a business trip,Staff are very helpful and polite.The hotel could do with a wider choice of drinks in the bar ( personal preferance ).

On arrival at 2.30pm, there did not appear to be any reception staff on duty and the office staff who dealt with us did not have a booking made until I provided internet printout of the booking confirmation but we were lucky to get two of the few remaining rooms available.Had we attempted to book in later that day we might have had a room.We had breakfast at about 9 am but the variety and quality of the food available did not in our veiw warrant the price that we paid.

ReasonableFor a cheaper than cheap night it does the job if your looking for a bed for the night and no more. The place really needs a facelift but at 45quid for a night it is good value for money

Hotel was great value for money but a little tired, not many staying and not many staff, I eat in the resturant and dinner was quite poor, breakfast was okay though.

Excellent value for money, and all that is needed for a night's business stay. Pleasant bar and a good breakfast to start the following day. Location is highly convenient for the A1(M) but far enough from the road itself to avoid traffic noise.
