We are conveniently located just off I-40, exit 105 and Hwy 18 South in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The PLAZA INN is only minutes from Grace Hospital, Broughton Hospial, Piedmont Community College, Senator Sam Ervin Library, Lake James, and Old Burke County Court House. Location only. Old and dirty. The hotel staff was pleasant but difficult to understand. The room was neat, but not non-smoking, or at least it still recked of smoke. The air conditioning was noisy and keep going off before it reached the set temperature. The towels were very hard and thin. The bathroom tub was rusty and did not drain properly. Had to hold the toilet handle down until all the water was down before lifting. The sheets on the bed did not appear clean and fresh, like it had been made for a long time with the smoke smelling spread on top. We will not frequent this hotel again.

I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful. Most of all it was very quiet. I was able to rest and sleep. Thank you.

Nothing. Everything. I had gotten this hotel for my sister to come watch my son graduate. There were holes in the walls and in the door. The carpet and floor were nasty, the refrigerator did not work. The ice machine did not work. There was actual grass growing out of the pool, not algae but grass. This was the nastiest dump I have ever seen in my life and I was terribly embarrassed for my sister.

I have stayed here many times. The rooms are very good and very clean. The TV is good too. They have a great staff and I like this place. I stay here everytime I am in the area. Thank you.

the management is courteous and helpful. The location is perfect for what I needed. Very close to many local restaurants. It is very convenient and easy to get to. My room was very clean and comfortable. Thank you.

Everything! The so called continental breakfast was saltine crackers and weak coffee. Find another place to stay.

This hotel should have had 1/4 star rating. It was old and run down. The bathroom was not fit to use. The shower curtain had mildew on it, and the floor of the shower had years of filth stuck to it. We did not use the shower because of this. The "Continental breakfast" was some Little Debbie cakes saltene crackers and 1 chewie bar was up there. We did not even bother with that either. What ever continent that's considered breakfast is one place I don't need to visit. This was a $*/night hotel but their rates are just below the area hotels. I paid about * bucks! Spend the extra buck to stay some where fit. Do not ever choose to spend a night here.

Not one thing stay in the room for 15 min. Very bad. I check in after 15 mim. I check out. Front desk said will bill me for one night only.

For the price, I guess it was ok. The swimming pool was closed. I had to asked for more towels but was given only one (hotel manager said he didn't have any more). The water backed up on the bathtub while taking a shower. The rugs are in desperate need of a good shampoo. I wouldn't stay there again.

Room was clean and price was low. The breakfast was awful! A cookie and a piece of bread doesn't make a breakfast! This hotel is a good place to stay if you're looking at price. It does provide a clean, safe, convenient to highway location. However, the exterior makes a bad first impression. Also, the breakfast consisted of an oatmeal cookie and a piece of bread. Never had such a cheap breakfast anywhere else. I wished they had told us there was no breakfast so I could have planned better to provide my own meal.

Wireless internet access was helpful. Conveniently located off Interstate 40. Little to no amenities. Smell of cigarette smoke in non-smoking room. Adequate hotel for lone traveler trying to pinch a budget. Little to no amenities in rather old and unattractive room. Reasonably comfortable bed, I was able to access wireless internet and hotel is located right off I-40, so it served it's purpose for an over night stay.

Dirty, outdated. Holes in bedspread. Sheets were dirty. This is the worst hotel, I have ever been to in my life. At midnight I left and went to the Holiday Inn. I never complain about anything. This was nasty.

Location. Very rundown, no remote, coffee or hairdryer. The staff spoke little to no English and did not understand the term wake up call. The carpet was stained and the air conditioner needed some repair. The soap, if you could loosely call it that crumbled after one minute near water. Poor water pressure and I could only see about 5 other people staying there.
