We chose this hotel for its location near the train terminal knowing that it would be a hub for city transit as well. We discovered the hotel location was within walking distance of most historic sites we desired to visit. The hotel's location had fine dining and pizza parlors, boutique shopping and souvenir shops, supermarket and post office nearby. We arrived well before check-in due to the all night flight. Hotel staff stored our luggage allowing us to do a little exploring after a rest in the lobby. Though the rooms are small, there were two comfortable sitting locations for reading and relaxing. This hotel was so convenient we would tour for five to six hours, grab a late afternoon meal, rest at the hotel and tour more in the evening. If we visit Rome again, we would check out Hotel Impero Roma first.

We booked this hotel on our second two nights in Rome and regretted not booking again with the first hotel, 7 Kings Relais. The rooms are okay in an expected small European room style, with incredibly dim lighting (even if you turn on every light in the bedroom) and small bathroom layout. The first room they put us in started leaking from the bathroom ceiling, exactly where your head would be if you sat on the toilet. When we told them about it, they already knew about the problem, shrugged their shoulders, and handed us extra towels to mop it up. They did transfer us to another room, which had a slightly better bathroom layout, but with two single beds pushed together. Also, I wonder why they don't have a soap dish in the shower stall, but there's one right next to the bidet. In any case, the room was still quiet, the beds were comfortably firm, and it was what we say "a bed to get back to" after a long day. The breakfast was beyond bizarre and tasteless. The bread was stale, the eggs undercooked, and orange juice tasting like overconcentrated acid. The only thing that was good was the chocolate croissants and other pastries, and we're pretty sure those were purchased from a bakery. Everything is gone by 9:30, so if you hope to eat their breakfast, don't start late. Also, all 3 concierge clerks were minimally courteous and friendly, but seemingly detached from being helpful. When we asked about a good, homestyle, non-touristy affordable restaurant, the evening concierge directed us to two places that were very much for tourists and for pizzas or high-end fusion menus. Completely off from what we had hoped for. The only positive thing I can honestly say is that they were good enough to move us (even though they shouldn't have given the first room to anyone if they already knew about the problem) and that the proximity to the Stazione Termini was not in a seedy part of town and good enough for us to catch the airport train out with ease.

We were traveling back from the Cinque Terre and needed a place to stay in Rome for one night before we flew back to Denver. Selected Hotel Impereo due it's proximity to the Train Station, Orbitz ratings, and the included breakfast. The Hotel was OK, but only for one night.

I would say that this hotel is perfectly adequate and a no frills option. Its location is perfect for the station, and our bedroom overlooked the operahouse entrance. The bed was not comfortable and kept moving about!

great location, although a very old hotel our room was great and very clean. The breakfast could be improved and the only complain was the poor service of the tables at breakfast

Reception was particularly helpful and welcoming, and the room adequate (though double for single use) but poorly equipped. Nevertheless, what can one expect at such a price and classification ? The location is very convenient and competitive for those needing to use the stazione termini.

Some rooms are exteremely small so request another if you are not happy as the rooms vary in size quite considerably. First floor rooms are bigger as far as I could make out. Location is excellent and hotel was very clean.

Impero Hotel Rome has excellent furnitures in the common space. I think that the hotel used to be one of high class hotels, but has changed it's policy. If I think of the location and the price, I can not complain anything, but I would not stay there again.
