Overall very good for the area, I've stayed at several local hotels and this was the best so far. I will go back.

We took our young niece and nephew to Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk and wanted to stay somewhere that was nicer than downtown Santa Cruz but still a short drive away. This place certainly fit the bill. The check-in process was smooth as ever. We booked a day before on online travel website. The room was large enough for the four of us and the quite comfortable. It was near a large shopping mall with several places to find a family dinner, but far enough away from the mall and main road that noise was not an issue. The morning breakfast was a great surprise ~ REAL FOOD! Overall a great experience.

We were very pleased with our stay at Holiday Inn Express. The room was very clean and offered an in room mini kitchen with a sink, small refrigerator, and microwave. The indoor pool, although small, was a treat after a long day. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. We would definately stay here again.

Large clean room, kitchenette, free wireless, HBO, new toiletry brand, free breakfast, poolhot tub, free bottled water. While the chain has done a great job modernizing the rooms and amenities, the building itself was old and outdated, like a 'typical' 2 star.

Check in was prompt and efficient. Room was clean and cool...it was August. Were given soft and firm pillows. Continental breakfast was better then most.We were actually given real juice,not one but three different selections,as well as a variety of breads, cereals and fruit. The hotel was about 30 min from Monterey/Carmel,but you can't beat the price.The week we stayed in the area,there was the big State Fair in Sacramento as well as the Monterey County Fair and some sort of car race.Rooms were scarce and expensive elsewhere. Earlier that week my husband and I stayed in a dump that we booked through Hotwire....please take my advice,NEVER,EVER book anything through Hotwire.Do your booking through Travel website.Every hotel during our trip through California that I booked through them was excellent. I hope Hotwire is not one of their parent companies..if they are,get rid of them.

It exceeded our expectations & we ended up staying in the room more than I though for naps, etc. & using the great indoor pool lots with the grandkids. We loved it & it's very close to great shopping for Target & supermarkets, etc.... the only downer was the electronic card keys kept going out & not working. I'm sure they'll have that fixed.

Breakfast was great, staff was great andpool was amazing. The breakfast was great! We had a family renunion in the town and the location of the hotel worked out perfect for runs to the store and target and walks for pizza! We would stay again definitely!

When we got there we found out that nline travel website had forgotten somehow to send in the payment we had made online - but it was courteously resolved. Make sure you check what you pay for b/c we might had been charged again for the stay. Other than that I would recommed this place. We (2adults/1tod/1inf) were comfortable and only a 15/20 minute drive from Santa Cruz. Everything was clean and nice. The comp. breakfast could use some more protien (ham or different variety boiled eggs). Would stay here again!

The rooms were wonderful and clean. We only stayed for an evening, but I would drive the additional 15 miles to stay at a nice hotel like this one for our next Santa Cruz visit

Liked the in room hot tub, friendly staff, aromatherapy soaps, comfortable and spacious room, and comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast offerings were adequate, but nothing to write home about. Everything about this stay was great. Although breakfast was adequate and tolerable for a quick morning bite once or twice, but nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly, the location was easy to get to from the highway, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We really liked the little added touches, like aromatherapy soaps and abundance of pillows. The bed was ultra comfortable, and the shower was hot with great water pressure. The establishment was very clean-we had absolutely no qualms about enjoying our in room hot tub!

Our room was clean, tried the pool and hot tub. only one other family in it when we used it, but can be cramped with a lot of people. no reasturant on premises, but a lot of choices near-by. overall we had a good nites sleep and enjoyed our stay.

Nice location, excellent breakfast bufet, good view from the room. Limited parking, hotel short staffed during breakfast time. No one was in the front desk. Good value for your money, with good views from the room. Nice pool and spa.

I made the reservation for 3 people; however, the room was not stocked for 3 people. We had to call down to the front desk to get more toiletries and towels. What makes it worse is we had to go get them ourselves. My husband and my stepdaughter thought the beds were very uncomfortable.

Excellent staff, breakfast, and cleanliness. Location was noisy. This was an excellent hotel with helpful, friendly staff and clean rooms. Although rooms were basic, they were clean and comfortable. The breakfast served had a nice presentation and variety. The only complaint was that the hotel is located near a car repair shop and busy street that had noise early in the day.
