It is very challenging to book a room when you live so far from your destination and you have never visited before. I thought I read good reviews on this motel, but I have a different opinion. This place was filthy and our air conditioner did not work. This made it difficult to sleep as did the dirty sheets. When we pulled the covers back, there was dirt and someone else's hair all over the sheets. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone. It would be well worth it to spend a little more money for cleanliness and comfort.

Only location. Maid service reprehensible, bed was uncomfortable and hotel is run down. This hotel is very, very run down. The tub was broken, the bed uncomfortable, and the linens obviously dirty (had to be replaced, and this was done with much attitude after a very long wait). I hardly slept the two nights we stayed here. The remote did not work, the service was very unprofessional (the office looks like a daycare, and our bed was not even properly made for the second day). The location is terrific, but there's another hotel down the street that is much nicer. We would never darken the door of this motel again.

Basic older motel with a very friendly staff. Hard bed, but clean room, although it might creep out the picky middle class housewives. Could use a remodel and definately new matresses. This is for budget travelers who only need the room to sleep in. Great location!

Very friendly and polite. Nothing. Went out of way to please a first time stay. Restaurants close by are very good.

not a continental breakfast worth going to, bathroom floor is cold block tile, but beds are very comfortable and a great location.

The staff was friendly. Room was not really clean, in need of painting and repairs, beds not good at all. For the price I would say you could do better, there are other motels in the same area for the same price and much more modern, I will say the location was great and the staff of the hotel was very friendly, but the rooms were not in very good shape and not as clean as they should be. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were really thin, in fact I went out and bought my own pillows to sleep on.

air quality in room bad, coughed one night and woke with sore throat the next, old and tired hotel

The location put us right in the middle of everything the town has to offer. It was nice to park our car and walk to most everything we wanted to see. Restaurants were close and within walking distance and the tours were also. Rooms were clean and comfortable. For the very affordable price we were pleasantly surprised by how cozy this motel was. We would definately return to Gettysburg and the Colton again.

The Colton Motel was a great value for the money. It was clean, very close to the attractions and the staff was very friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We biked the battlefields and really enjoyed our stay. We will definately go back!!

We only had time to stay at the Colton Motel one night. The location was great and easy to find. Room was average size. The bathroom was dusty and there wasn't any exhaust fan to remove the moisture while taking a shower. The mattresses were okay but sag on one side. Air Conditioner, Color TV and Refrigerator worked. We would probably stay again. The price was in our budget.

Everyone says, It doesn't matter what the room is like. You just sleep there. Well, that's not the case. The Colton Motel was in town, and very convenient. They didn't have something as basic as a clock in the room, although they did have a refrigerator. The iron was stolen, so there was no iron available for the entire motel. The room was kind of run-down, and we couldn't really keep the window shade open during the day, the room was on the ground floor (as were all the rooms). The attendant was pleasant. The room was clean and my husband and I slept well. But for us, well, we've learned we'd rather spend extra money and stay in a nicer place that's more conducive to rest in the down periods from touring.

The room was comfortable and clean, and had plenty of room to hang up some clothes and unwind. The attendant was waiting for us to arrive, even though we didn't get there until after 8 p.m., and she was very friendly and helpful. From our room it was a short walk to the Gettysburg cemetery and much of the battle sights. I would stay there again the next time I go to Gettysburg.

This hotel is old built around the 40's or 50's. The breakfast was donuts and coffee only. If you are only passing through and staying one night I suppose it would be ok.

I was in Getteysburg for 3 nights and stayed at the Colton and it was a great place to stay. Great location, you can walk anywere in Gettysburg from the motel, service was good, the hostess was very nice. I recommend this a plce to stay. Will stay again.

The hotel was clean. The staff warned of odd things such as electronics turning on and off. She thought it was due to ghosts on the property. This hotel is located next to the battlefield.

The Colton Gettysburg is perfectly located for a historic stroll, fabulous dining near by, and simple comfort. The National Cemetary is right in your backyard, and visitor center a few steps away. My family stayed at this motel 37 years ago traveling east on a family vacation, and it remains well cared for and affordable.

We felt at home from the start and knew that, whatever our needs were going to be, they would be met. We were close to everything we needed; dining, attractions, gas, snacks, etc.
