Not as the hotel used to be. I was really disappointed. Staff both in the dinning room and reception desk were extremely rude. Car parking is not always available, not stated on the website. We had to pay £12 for over night parking at the bottom of the street.

Lovely view - but difficult for disabled people..This hotel is really for families & was quite noisy at times. Our room overlooked the beach & I enjoyed watching the trams & bustle below. The food was ok, quite basic & had vegetarian options at dinner and breakfast, but there was plenty to eat. Coffee & tea are served at breakfast, but you have to pay & have it separately at dinner! The staff were very friendly & helpful, and though it was very busy, made us feel welcome. Though wheelchair access was fine in the hotel, there was inadequate parking & the ramp quite steep, which is difficult for manual wheelchairs. I could not use the bath & the shower was over it, so not good for more than a night if you like a shower or bath every day.. Overall it was pleasant & I'd stay again at the reduced price!

Break with grandsonMy husband and I took our 20month grandson for a 3 day break to Blackpool. We have stayed in many hotels in Blackpool but not the Claremount before this trip. We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was fine, the restaurant very good. In the ballroom kiddies played together and totally enjoyed running around together. The 'Base' was a disapointment. It didn't open until 4pm on the day we chose to visit it. The 'soft area' was untidy, dirty and not very pleasant or appealing for small kiddies. The swimming pool was brilliant. Overall we had a very lovely short break at the Clarmount.

could do betterClean enough hotel and reasonable value. I could have got it cheaper on the day if I had just turned up rather than the laterooms price, but it wasn't that expensive. It is a little far from the centre, though not too long a walk along the prom. I would look for somewhere better next time.

A very enjoyable experienceTremendous value for money, amazed that during our stay all drinks were half priceEveryone seemed very friendly , particularly enjoyed the evening entertainment

The hotel itself was very nice, the staff attentive but we found that the the hotel lay-out rather confusing especially when trying to find the bedroom. There is only one lift, which is small and only one leading staircase which takes you to the first floor, from there the corridors seam endless with other stairs leading to other floors. The clientel in the hotel were manly old and infirm, but you expect that at this time of year, but hey! they have as much right as anybody else to have a holiday and it didn't stop us having a great time.

we were allocated a sea view room, both the room and the view were great. the food is gorgeous, loads of choice. staff are very helpful and considerate, i will use this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family also. oh and the location is only 4 or 5 minutes walk to the tower but is so peaceful, it was lovely.

Reception very unhelpful when we arrived about advising us where we could park, parking a nightmare! Waitress also very rude to us - argumentative when I requested a special diet, food otherwise excellent, impressed with restaurant excpet for our particular waitress!Swimming pool cold and too much chlorine which made us all cough!Rooms comfortable and warm.

Bedroom clean and of a decent size, bathroom a bit cramped. A good entertainment programe on an evening. The service and the food in the dining room were both excellent. Will be returning.

Plenty of car parking, some off site and you have to leave your vehicle keys in case you are blocking other vehicles. It would appear that the hotel is being refurbished as the public areas are clean and fresh and the swimming pool and gym look new.Unfortunatly this does not transfer into the bedrooms and access halls, we stayed for two nights and had a room which looked into an enclosed area with no view, we also noticed some rooms did not appear to have windows, and our thoughts were the better rooms were used for people staying for a week, which in theory you can understand and accept - if the room rate reflected the room itself.Only had breakfast in the hotel which was adequate - if we had utilised all the facilities on offer perhaps the monetry value would have been acceptable, stayed in better hotels at less cost.

Lovely swimming pool, good value DBB rate, only disapointment was the veiw from our room (128 which looked out onto facing rooms and the roof- was quite shocked to find workmen out side our window on the second day!)

I think its fair to say that the Claremont in Aug 08 is going through a transition phase. Choice (who's head office is right behind the Claremont itself) have obviously bought this hotel and updated the obvious like the rooms, reception area, bar area and pool. But be aware of the corridors leading to your room. Its like a scene out of a horror movie! Car parking can also be very difficult to find if you arrive after teatime. The hotel has great potential, I think they ran out of cash to finish the renovation job. Enjoy your stay with the friendly mostly non English staff, just close your eyes when walking the corridors, you've been warned!
