This hostel offers a central location that overlooks the lake. Those who stay at the Base Taupo will find that they can visit the lake, go fishing and hiking, and enjoy many other outdoor activities. They will also be able to find shops and cafés in the area to visit. Guests will find plenty of public transportation that is only a short distance from the Base Taupo. They can also rent cars to visit all of the areas they want to see. Some popular sites are only a short walk away.

The Base Taupo offers a variety of room styles for guests. Guests will be able to choose a private room with an en suite bathroom and a TV, or they can choose a dorm style room. The hotel offers an area for women only as well.

Guests of the hotel will be able to relax on the sundeck that overlooks the lake, and they can have breakfast at the hotel before starting their day. The Base Taupo also offers an onsite bar called Element.

What are your breakfast options?: There are no breakfast options but we are located in the heart of town so all cafes and restaurants are within 5 minutes walk.
What transport is available to get around?: As we are situated in the centre of town, you will not need transport but there is a shuttle that is available to the public.
Do you have internet?: We do have internet and Wi-Fi available; we do a minimum $5 top-up, $9.95 Wi-fi for 24 hours unlimited.
Do you provide parking?: As we do not have a designated car park, there is a time limit for parking: Monday to Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm (it is free parking between those hours). Also there is an all day car parking available 1 block from the base.
