The hotel was exactly what I expected-- clean and basic, and a good value for the money. Staff were very friendly. Linens could use updating (slightly worn bedspread), but I had a wonderful mountain view from my balcony. If I wanted to splurge, I'd stay at the Fairmont in Banff, but I was there to hike and had no complaint.

The eucalyptus steam room was wonderfully yet mildly fragrant and relaxing! The costs for underground parking was an additional $12 per night.

A bit older hotel. The fan made funny noise all night. Woke us to 2 in the morning.

This is our hotel of choice when we visit Banff. Its walking distance from restaurants and shopping. We've booked twice online and we've always gotten a room close to reception/elevator with a great view. The pool and hot tub area have been recently renovated and they've added an exercise area, a great place to hang out on a rainy afternoon! This hotel is clean and convenient.

Even though we were given a room in the furtherest part of the hotel, and our balcony view was of a tree that obstructed our view, for the price and location it was so very nice! The beds and the amenities were great!

Steam room was outstanding & quite clean. Price for breakfast too high by far compared to category. This is a great hotel in a great location.

We booked a room with a king bed for our joint birthday celebrations. Specifically chose "king size bed" as the option we wanted. When we presented at the hotel, the desk clerk was booking us in and said we were getting a room with two queen beds. I said very nicely that I didn't want to argue with her, but we had specifically requested a king bed. The Desk Manager on duty interrupted our conversation and told me point blank that "you can argue all you want", but they have the right to alter the room/reservation. After going elsewhere for awhile to cool down, we re-approached the desk manager, who initially still insisted that the hotel had the right to change our request, although our documentation from the online travel agency did NOT state that this was their prerogative. He finally apologized after finding out that we booked through the online travel agency, and my husband asked him to, for his rude behavior, and then told us he could kick some other individuals out of a king bed room for us. We said we were not interested in ruining someone's else's weekend as well. He also said that if we had registered later in the day, that we would have received a king bed room, but we had asked for early check-in, which we had NOT. He insisted that we had. We were extremely disappointed with the service at check-in and this person's attitude and rudeness, and his lack of interest in working to an agreeable solution without doing the same thing to another traveller. The hotel is older, but has been updated and is very clean. It is also very convenient to Banff Avenue so is just a short walk. The Sunday Brunch is excellent!! Reservation required or you won't get in.

After spending over dollars for a room with a Jacuzzi tub for the first night of our honeymoon. We were very disappointed when we got back to our room after having dinner and a few drinks; because when we went to use the Jacuzzi we discovered that the jets were covered with mold and hair. Needless to say that pretty much killed the enthusiasm for having a soak in the tub.

Easy access to shops & restaurants in town. Room was cheesy/outdated/no microwave/no breakfast. Good location, nice staff, had to ask for second pillows, had roll-away bed but charged $10 extra. Very nice pool.

Nice hotel, great location and great views. Close to downtown Banff for shopping , restaurants, and nightlife, yet hotel backs onto the Bow River, with a fabulous walking/biking path and canoe rentals close by. Swimming pool, steam room etc., are newly renovated.......very nice.

The room smelled, it was unbearably hot and took hours to cool down once we turned the air conditioning on, the jacuzzi tub was dirty and uninviting and the bathroom had no fan.

Jaccuzzi in the room! Towels a bit rough. Very comfortable bed, nice and clean room and since we were in the back, with a view of the mountains, very romantic and quiet. The jacuzzi was so cool to have after our 7 hour horseback ride and just about every time we were in the room! The staff had a very good attitude and just a walk out the door to be in town! We had no problem sleeping or with unusual back pains, which was wonderful.

Loved that we could go out on a balcony and see the mountains. The promptness of staff. We called at 5 pm for more pillows as we needed 2 more. The desk clerk said someone would be right there and we never had anyone show up.
