We went to Banff to explore the national parks. The stay at this hotel was ok, could have been a little better for the price. The hotel staff was great and their continental breakfast was exceptionally delicious. However, the room itself wasn't that great. The room was pretty shabbily decorated and the bed was uncomfortable. The location was great, only 2 blocks from all the shops and restaurants. Overall, not a bad place to stay but the price could have been a little cheaper.

Banff Aspen Inn was a joy from the time we walked in the door. The sweet young lady at the desk arranged that we could check in early. She then gave us some wonderful advice about the Gondola ride and lunch at the Summit and a tour in the evening to see wildlife. When we returned from lunch and attempted to make reservations for the tour we had touble getting thru on the phone. She insisted that she make the reservations for us and then gave us information. The next morning, we went downstairs for the free breakfast and were treated like royalty by the two girls working in the dining room. It was the best continentail breakfast we had on our trip. The food was fresh and tasty. Also our room was so unusual. It was shaped in a triangle to fit into the corner of the building. Had a wonderful balcony overlooking downtown Banff. The furniture was cute and the bed was comfortable and we had lots of room to relax with free internet. Our only disapointment was that after a full day we did not the energy to use the wonderful outdoor Spa. They even had a fireplace next to the hot tub. A great experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Decor in lobby, sitting area, and hot tub area. Decor in room, lack of following own rules. Our room was dated and small (one of the corner rooms). The hotel lobby and sitting room looked modern as well as the outdoor hot tub area. Hot tub area was not licensed and therefore no alcohol allowed, which was a not really a rule but just a guideline apparently. Plus it was closed at 10 pm every night and on our third night was now just a warm tub. Parking is a bit of an issue. They have a parkade which most people obviously do not wish to use but instead park in the back, which should be reserved for oversize vehicles that do not fit in the parkade. Continental breakfast was fine, nothing exciting. Overall it was an okay experience. Would probably choose to stay elsewhere next time.

The shared areas - breakfast room, lobby and hot tub area was beautiful. The actual rooms were dirty and uncomfortable. The shared areas of the hotel were beautiful. The hotel staff was nice and accommodating.

Courtyard & spa awesome! No free wireless internet, bed sheet smell humidity, slow painful check-in! Great location as it is only one block away from the town center and all services. Very spacious rooms with private balcony, nice looking courtyard with European style spa. Only down points was that the front desk staff was ultra-slow, you have to pay for wireless internet through a hot spot so not quite business traveler friendly, my bed sheets were humid & smelly, and woke up with a red hair in my mouth, disgusting.
