treated well, great dinner by the pool -very quite - real nice place with excellent service! well stocked bar and food station in room, great shower and thick robes -they should get flat panel TV in room -classic hollywood place like chau mar but without the nude women and champagne.

We've never been to LA before and because we didn't have a car for our entire stay we wanted to make sure we were within walking distance to lots of stuff. The Avalon certainly met that requirement. There's lots of restaurants and shops well within walking distance. The staff was wonderful and accommodating they were able to make suggestions and reservations and provided special touches because it was our anniversary. We did have a broken tv and hair dryer but that was quickly fixed. The room was noisy but not from the pool like others have mentioned but rather from the noise from the back lane early in the morning between 6 and 7am not sure if it was a garbage truck or delivery truck but it was really load and woke us every morning. Other than that you can't beat the price or location.

I stayed there with my wife and 5 year old daughter. First off, the price was incredibly reasonable for Beverly Hills, CA. The place is beautiful... modern with a taste of the seventies. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. When asked for directions to various places, they had no problem providing them. The room we stayed in was separate from the main building, but very nice. Like an apartment just for us. You don't even feel like you're staying in a hotel, since the neighborhood is very residential. Also, very convenient and centrally located in Beverly Hills. Just an all-round nice place to have stayed. Thanks again.

Only there for one night, but wish it could've been longer.

The Avalon ranks high among the best boutique hotels, and stands respectably alongside the fabulously hip hotels in NY and South Beach. The front desk staff was fantastic! They really have the concept of SERVICE and should be proud. We were quite pleased and would stay there again. It's a great, fun hotel for single people and for couples, and is soooo close to Rodeo Drive.

We stayed in the Avalon Hotel as a mini-vacation before business travel in downtown LA. The staff was amazingly friendly. Our room was in the building in the back, which meant that our view was overlooking a parking lot rather than the pool. We did have a room at the end of the hall, which was nice to know we would only have one potential neighbor. We spent more time walking around the neighborhood than we did in the hotel, so we unfortunately did not get to the pool - which looked divine. Blue on Blue was a little pricey for our tastes, so we asked concierge for a suggestion, and they even called and let them know we would be coming. A few of the things in the room like the lampshades etc were a little outdated, but that didn't bother us. The overall feel of the hotel was fun and classy, without being uptight, which is what I like. My boyfriend and I came in wearing jeans and sweatshirts but weren't looked down on for it (or anything), which is something I worried about staying in Beverly Hills. Drawback: the internet cost $10/day (not terrible but an inconvenience). Also, heard that the valet parking (only option) is about $30, but we didn't have a rental car and managed fine.

Treated so well! From the valet service to the front desk to the restaurant, everyone aimed to please. Art deco decor and an upscale evening crowd made this place fun. Great location, walk to everything. The valets even put water bottle in the car for us!

We stayed at the Avalon for one night to get away from the kids. We got a great deal ($120). Location is great and the service was great. Only complaints are the $30 for parking and the small TV with bad reception.

The decor was very cool and modern. Exactly what you would expect to see in L.A. The concierge service was excellent. Maid service came to the room twice a day. This hotel is close to EVERYTHING, including some of the best shopping and restaurants in town. The only downfall to this awesome hotel is the limited access to the pool. While open during the day, it becomes part of the hotel restaurant at 6pm. So forget lounging by the pool at night in your swimsuit while ordering drinks. We had a great time and would definitely consider the Avalon for our next trip to LA.

The hotel was located within walking distance of Beverly Hills, so it was very convenient for the trip I had planned. However, the hotel was on the older side and quite noisy. I was on the top floor and could hear the clanking of the dishes from the restaurant kitchen on the lower floor until they closed late at night. The plumbing was noisy and you could hear everything going on outside on the street and in the corridors. However, the room was clean and comfortable and decorated well. I would definitely stay there again; but probably on the other side of where the kitchen is located.
