Niantic and East Lyme are in New London County, in the Norwich-New London metro area. Niantic is a village in the Town of East Lyme, Connecticut. Located on Long Island Sound, Niantic Bay is popular for swimming, fishing and boating. Rocky Neck State Park, offers great views of Long Island Sound, including several offshore islands such as Gardiners Island, Plum Island, and the distant tip of Long Island, Orient Point. The Rocky Neck beach is known for its sandbar, one of the few places along the Connecticut shoreline free of rocks and stones. At low tide the sandbar lies exposed and bathers may walk out into the water for quite some distance before reaching waist deep water. The overall look of the outside is dismal, pool with a cover that looks like it has been on it for years. Weeds overgrown, broken furniture in the locked up pool area. The room was very dark with bad lighting, sheets where thread bare and of course that special musty smell for a place like this has. The bathroom might have been clean but the fauct in the sink was broken. They did provide ONE towel in the same condition as the sheets. I would say no coffee in the morning but will admit we left early just to get out of there.

It was conveniently located. The toilet paper roll was broken. The door was not firmly installed. It is an older building. The rooms are small.

The America's Best Value Inn in Niantic/East Lyme, Ct. was dirty and very uncomfortable. This was a typical one night stand motel room. The bathroom was dirty with hair in the shower as well as on the floor. I would never stay there again. Terrible experience.

Convenient. NA. The motel not hotel was easy to get into. They had only minimal supplies such as two towels 2 tiny soaps.

Beds seem to have plastic mattress covers, which make noise when you move. No Iron, hair dryer, cups or ice bucket. The pool was not open, the beds were very hard and noisy, and the room smelled funky.

America's Best Value Inn was so-so, but we were looking for value rather than amenities. The bathroom was not really clean and the towels were very frayed and some were stained but clean (I think). We spent almost no time in the room...only to sleep. They do accept pets which was a necessity for us!

AC was cold. Dirty, run down. When I arrived at the office to check in the first thing I noticed was the foul odor. The room did not smell as bad as the office, but it was dirty. The bathroom was falling apart, paint peeling, shower curtain hanging off, toilet clogged, sink drained slow, generally unclean. We slept on top of the bedcovers afraid to touch the sheets. Woke up looking forward to a dip in the pool on a hot day but it was closed.

Our room was quite small and not well-lit. The toilet paper holder was torn from the wall. There are rubber mattress covers that make sounds each time you roll over and the bed was very uncomfortable. Although not the hotel's fault, we woke to no power and were unable to shower, etc. because there was no light. We stayed only because it was one of the few hotels available near the casinos which were sold out. Most likely would not stay again unless desperate. Easy access to the highway. But, overall was not too pleased, felt claustrophobic as the rooms are so small, and the beds are uncomfortable.

Adequate for my needs. Ceiling and wall corners were full with dust webs. Strong curry smell in the loby.

Room was clean and a bit better than expected. Would have liked to have had clean towels for second day of stay. Could not beat overall value. Hotel served its purpose adequately.

We were going to play at Mohegan and go fishing with a friend. This was the perfect option for a cheap place to sleep but that's about it. Very basic, not very shiny, but tolerable if you need someplace cheap to sleep and change clothes.
