The Ace in Kyoto is a true gem. The facilities are thoughtful, clean, and well equipped. The location is also ideal and walkable to many attractions. The bar and restaurants onsite are nice options for an evening in as well.

Absolutely good location with handy subway access. Hotel by Kengo Kuma The best room! Beautifully designed with a contemporary take on mid-century modern. Amazing bathroom. Breakfasts were more like a good brunch but you pay for it. Attentive, helpful staff.

Pros (+) It’s gorgeous, modern, great location, unbelievable staff, spacious, top tier food. The vibes are unbeatable. Even on a slow night (Sunday?) they had a DJ playing on a mezzanine level with no crowd, but made the taco restaurant more fun. Pros (+) Centrally located, Funky with real positive energy, fabulous staff and good rooms with useful amenities. It was a fun place to stay which gave a young, vibrant and positive feel to Kyoto. It was a real find and I would happily recommend it.
