Spend a day out in nature at Mount Worth State Park. Have a picnic in the Moonlight Creek picnic area before you set off on the hour-long Cameron Valley trail or follow the Giant’s Circuit along Lorkin Creek, keeping your eyes peeled for local birdlife.

For a dose of culture, head to the West Gippsland Art Centre. Book tickets to a show at one of the area’s major performing arts centres, which host a variety of events and festivals. Check out Rowses Flower Farm in Warragul South or the wildflower sanctuary at Labertouche.

Music buffs should visit Darnum Musical Village, home to displays of over 300 spectacular instruments and complemented by panoramic views above the exquisite village gardens. Don’t overlook the Collard and Collard Square Grand Piano in addition to the 1878 William Anderson Pipe Organ.

Getting around

Warragul is located just over 100 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. The Warragul railway station serves the V/Line between Bairnsdale and Southern Cross Station. There is a bus network with four routes running through town and the easiest way to get around is by car.
