At Arboreal Insect Museum and the Muh Sheng Museum of Entomology, you can marvel at the intricate world of insects, including thousands of butterflies. Lungnan Natural Lacquerware Museum reveals close ties to the lacquerware industry, where you can watch demonstrations and take guided tours.

Art thrives outdoors at New Era Sculpture Park, which features statues by renowned local artists. Head out to Carp Lake to spy egrets while cycling along the shoreline. Take an extended excursion to Sun Moon Lake, where you can rent a scooter, bicycle or boat.

Getting around

You can reach Puli Township by rail or bus from Taipei. Taxis and bicycles are the best ways to get around the city. You can also rent a car at Taichung Airport, about 45 minutes away.
