Where to stay in Nebug

About Nebug

Located where the Nebug River flows into the Black Sea, Nebug is a coastal town between Tuapse and Dzhubga in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai region. It’s renowned for its dolphinarium and easy access to a wild beach that’s one of the most photogenic in Russia.

Things to do

One of the main attractions in Nebug is the Nebug Dolphinarium, which regularly hosts live shows featuring its resident dolphins and seals. Settle into the shaded arena to watch all the games and antics in the central pool while learning about the unique lifestyle and behaviour of these intelligent marine mammals.

At the mouth of the Nebug River is Plyazh Nebug, a pebbly beach that’s a popular spot for sunbathing and swimming during the summer months. You can rent beach umbrellas and sun loungers from one of the local vendors or participate in a range of water sports. There are several cafes backing the beach that serve food and drinks throughout the day.

A short drive south from Nebug is Skala Kiseleva, which is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Russia’s Black Sea coast. Backed by steep cliffs blanketed in vegetation, this wild stretch of pebbles is ideal for travellers who want to escape the crowds and the resort-like atmosphere of the region’s other beaches.

Getting around

Nebug is around 25 minutes’ drive from Tuapse and just under three hours from Sochi while Sochi International Airport is 3.5 hours away. Krasnodar International Airport is two hours from Nebug. Buses are the main means of getting to Nebug while the centre of town is compact enough to explore on foot. Having your own vehicle gives you greater freedom to get around the region.
