If you do one thing in Boulder, make sure you experience the gigantic sandstone Flatirons up close. If you’re keen to keep active, follow the Boulder Ale Trail, a 24-kilometre bike path encompassing 10 microbreweries.

Take part in the summertime ritual of tubing down Boulder Creek. You can also stay on dry land with a walk, cycle or ride along the picturesque Boulder Creek Trail. The smooth paved path meanders alongside the creek beneath shady old trees ending in Central Park.

Getting around

Boulder is a 45-minute drive or 70-minute bus ride from Denver International Airport. With plenty of cycling paths and pedestrianised streets, walking and riding are popular ways to get around town. Due to condensed traffic, using the local bus and bike sharing program is the best option.
