After much deliberation, we decided on the Sheraton. Based on location, within walking distance of Whaler’s Village (shops and dining), activities snorkeling and swimming at the hotel pool. We also took the shuttle onto Front Street for a day. The hotel is huge. We got a ocean view room on the first floor, with an open sliding door that lead right to a large lawn which we laid on a looked at the stars one night. Snorkeling at black rock was nice. Along the beach there are places you can rent gear. We did that - $8/hour. The regular pool was great, not too must so you didn’t have to buy a cabana. Restaurant wise: The mai tai bar is good. It’s Hawaii so it is $$. The Rock Salt, we went there for breakfast buffet $32 for adults, children’s are free. We went to 2 restaurants in Whalers village Leilani’s & Hula Grill. Both were pricey with small portions (especially for the cost).
