    A Lovely Place To Stay

Marvelous time! We had booked a quiet executive room with a mountain view and we got just that, on the 6th floor. Our room was large and clean with a minibar, a very comfortable bed, and a huge bathroom. The hotel's restaurants are very good -- we had dinner twice at M with Carolina as our very attentive and pleasant server, and breakfasts on the front patio were a treat. The real standout for us throughout our stay was the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. Axel, our English-speaking driver, was courteous and informative, and we felt very safe with him behind the wheel. Really, whenever we wanted information, someone was available to provide it. There was only one exception to this, when we asked on a Sunday if we would be able to get a taxi, where we wanted to go to see an art exhibit. A hotel employee told us we'd have no problem, but in fact we did: there were no cabs nearby, the staff of the Space were not helpful, and we were a good 35-minute walk from the Hotel. Not a long walk for us, usually, but we weren't prepared for it, due to having been misinformed by the Hotel employee. A passing cab driver saw us and gave us a ride back, so all ended well. In short, after nearly 3 weeks in Bangkok, which we could and did retreat frequently during our relaxing week. I would recommend it highly.
