My recent stay at the Mercure Singapore Bugis was a positive one overall. The hotel's exceptional location is its real asset. It was conveniently located near a wide range of public transportation choices in the bustling Bugis district. Traveling around Singapore was made easy by the easy access to MRT stations, buses, taxis, and Grab (do not forget to download the app, similar to Uber). This prime location also placed me right on the doorstep of bustling shopping centres and lively markets, perfect for indulging in some retail therapy or exploring the local scene. While the rooms at the Mercure Bugis were on the smaller side, they were perfectly adequate for solo travelers or couples. It's important to manage expectations if you're traveling with two people, as luggage space might be a bit tight. One small caveat: some reviewers mentioned the hotel doesn't provide face cloths, so you might want to pack your own if that's an amenity you typically use. Despite the slightly snug room size, I was thoroughly impressed by the warm hospitality extended by the staff. Singaporeans are renowned for their friendliness, and the Mercure Bugis staff certainly lived up to that reputation. Their helpfulness and attentiveness made my stay all the more enjoyable. LikedThe room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was good. The swimming pool was great.
DislikedThe room was small. It was advertised as a suitable for three people. The photos used to advertise the property were a bit misleading. When three people are staying in the room, with three suitcases, there isn't a lot of room. It might be ok with smaller children, but with a 12 year old, the room was tight.

LikedI loved the location and the facilities. The location was excellent because it was smack center of Bugis, accessible to the Bugis malls and the Bugis bus AND train stations. The room was also pretty spacious because it was the loft type. The facilities were also kept clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful with all our queries and requests. Got the bang for our buck, for sure! Amazing hotel.
DislikedOur air-conditioning unit was a bit wonky. We tried to keep it at the coolest setting but it felt like it wasn’t getting cool. We didn’t want to change rooms anymore because of the discomfort of having to pack and unpack, so we didn’t complain about the AC anymore.
