This is definitely one of the tops. The staff are so nice from the time I checked in until I took off. They helped me to arrange complicated traveling situations. I can’t speak the gratefulness toward the hosts. Definitely will stay when I visit the city again. Thanks for everything you’ve done for me!

5 minute walk from train station. Owner very helpful. Beautifully clean. Good breakfast. 2 minutes to a bicycle rental shop with good bikes. About 10 minutes to Beinan archaeology site on other side of station. About 6 km from city center or the Prehistory Museum but if you do not have your own car or scooter, (and since public transportation is unreliable), a bike is the way to go. Taitung traffic is light, there is an excellent road with dedicated bike lanes into town. Not much in the way of food around the station area except for 7-11 and Family Mart and one restaurant that I’ve seen, but you’ll want to try out all the Taitung special foods in town anyway. Taitung downtown is crammed with small food stalls and restaurants.

The hosts (lady boss and her son) were very helpful in giving guidance of attractions places for tourists. I spent 1hr over breakfast with host to find out more about Taitung, their culture and lifestyle. Looking forward to go back again!
