LikedThe staff allowed me to place luggage at the counter after I checked out but that was also because of the delayed schedule as a result of faulty electrical sockets. But allowing luggage to be placed at lobby is a common practice in Taipei. There is no space for me to write what I dislike and so I shall continue here. When I complained to the hotel and asked for compensation, they tried to stop me from writing a bad review by telling booking.com that I did not check in! Can you believe Hoe ridiculous this is? It is unethical and a deliberate attempt to mislead.

DislikedI have a long list. Other than faulty electrical sockets (which the staff just simply smiled at me when I told them about it), the place is dirty, with cockroaches, lizard droppings. The room is also not sound proof as promised. I could hear lots of noises when other travellers walked along the corridor which was filled with cigarette smoke at night. After the cancellation period has expired, the hotel sent an email saying that there was no TV (but yet TV was displayed in the pictures and also in the room. It is like a museum exhibit) no wifi in the room, and the flask was not even equipped with an electrical cable. I later learnt that it was supposed to be used to hold hot water at the lobby. This is ridiculous. The email claims that it is because the hotel is a budget one. Another ridiculous area. When I made known to the staff that because the electrical sockets near the bed and TV are not working, I had to charge my handphone in the bathroom, the staff at the counter just gave a weak smile. Before that, when I asked for a wake up call, he said I should use the handphone alarm. But because my handphone was in the bathroom, I could not hear the alarm and I missed the meeting time with my landtour group at 6am at the Taipei Main Station. As a result I have to reschedule to the next day and was charged an additional $1000. I asked for compensation from the hotel but they refused. It was frustrating because it was the close meeting point and early meeting time that makes me decide to book this hotel in the first place. This hotel is not worth it simply because of its location. It is far better for traveller to spend some money on taxi fare rather than book this run-down and overpriced hotel. Do not book It simply for its location, you will regret it! Look carefully at the bedsheets and you will realise there are lizard droppings. I would have uploaded the video on cockroaches if this site would accept it. The notices on door are at least 40 years old!
