Phoenix Pavilion Hot Spring Hotel

LikedThe hotel boasts a rich heritage, with a history spanning over 70 years, which promises a glimpse into ancient traditions and culture. Despite its age, it remains quite a busy resort, with prompt shuttle services available to drop guest to Beitou city centre.

DislikedOne of the notable downsides is the absence of a lift for guests, which means depending on your room's location, you need to navigate stairs. Hence this is not an old age/parents or wheelchair friendly resort. Resort is located a bit away from the main street, which can be inconvenient for those looking to explore the lively crowds. The hilly terrain around the hotel makes walking to and from the hotel challenging. In terms of cleanliness, the aging carpet in the hotel shows signs of wear, with edges not properly cleaned and dust accumulation. This might affect those sensitive to allergens. Booking a family room for six people revealed another inconvenience: there's only one toilet connected to the hot spring tub, rendering the facilities inaccessible for the rest who are waiting their shower turn. Showering becomes a time-consuming task due to the limited bathroom access, leading to inefficiency. Another concerning aspect was the presence of black insects in both rooms, particularly around the floor and shoe area. This raised questions about potential bites, as some of us experienced itchiness afterward. The bedding for some reason is the soft type, unlike the common medium to hard bedding used nowadays in most hotels I guess this is just an individual preference. Highlighting this for other to consider and note. Despite these issues, one positive note was that the setup in the other family room was better, with a separate bathroom and hot spring tub.

LikedIt is obvious that it has Japanese style influence. So the atmosphere in the room is nice, simple but has everything you need. I like the window the layers, you can open for fresh air and close for quiet and peace ☺️ the space is clean and comfort with your own private hot spring bath tub. I also appreciate the ease of English communication and the shuttle service 🥰👍🏼🙏🏻. The hotel tried its best to accommodate the guests. And not forget to mention it’s very close distance to Thermal Valley and convenient store.

DislikedThe dining area and the stairs. The breakfast is decent. No elevator, and no need because of the size of hotel. Plus they help bringing your luggage up and down.

LikedRoom with private hot spring facilities. Super helpful staff and simple yet amazing Taiwanese breakfast!!
