It was what exactly I expected, old but well maintained. Easy to park and the room with view was very relaxing. Bad point was the walls were rly thin and there were strange sounds coming out but luckily we had a good onsen bath and were relaxed enough to fall asleep quickly.

LikedLocation of the hotel was extremely convenient. Our room was on a high floor and facing the river with a good view.
DislikedOur room was near the lift lobby. Sometime it can be very noisey when some other unconsiderate guests talked loudly when waiting for the lifts. The worse thing of all was the WiFi in the room was so weak that it was practically useless.

Fairly easy to get to via public transport. We rejected housekeeping so can't comment on that. The in-room tub is only large enough for one, so use the outdoor one if you need to relax after hiking. There are very few buses that take you to the dongmao trailhead in the morning though. The family mart is fairly close by.
