Stayed there in April for the first time. The room is clean and spacious. The hotel is surrounded by mountains which is great. The service could better. When we asked for directions to the facilities to different staff, we got response like "It is just right there." When we asked for scramble eggs at the breakfast cafeteria, the staff pointed at the sunny eggs in the tray and said, "The eggs are right in front of you." I honestly think that, for the expectations for a 4-star hotel, they need more training on how to communicate with their customers professionally.

LikedHuge variety of food for the breakfast buffet. The private outdoor hot spring in our room was incredible and clean. Everything was so clean. Had comfortable beds. Loved how secluded the location was
DislikedThe restaurant on site (separate from the breakfast buffet) was decent but I expected more given that there aren’t many other restaurants around and the price was pretty high

I booked this hotel for my family stay before the unfortunate earthquake happen. My other hotel bookings were cancelled on me so I had no choice but to reschedule everything. This was the only hotel that was unwilling to give out a refund. I did not stay at this location in the end so I am unable to comment on their facilities and location however it is disappointing that a refund was not possible. Nevertheless, it is a business and I respect their decisions. However I will not be booking with them in the future.

LikedAbsolutely incredible spa with breathtaking views over gorgeous mountains. Our room was spacious, comfy and had a beautiful hot spring bath. The spa facilties were excellent with a variety of open, secluded and indoor spaces. Just hope you're OK with the eggy sulphur smell! The breakfast was really nice, served in a spacious room, with plenty of Eastern and Western options.
DislikedThe main area of the hotel is clearly quite outdated and could do with a refurb. Loads of the hotel restaurants were shut, so we had to go elsewhere, and there wasn't anything in walking distance, and not much within a drive either! The 11am check out feels particularly stingy here for the price.

We opt for the japanese room type which we can enjoy hotspring within the room. The location is distant away from the zhuzhihu but there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Watch out the timing from yangmingshan station back as it is not always every one hour. Overall, i have a good stay at tienlai
