Golden Stone Hotel

LikedThe guy at the front office speaks English very well. He was friendly and helpful. We booked a non-smoking room, but it smelled very heavily. He gave us directly another room and apologized. This room had a light smell, but it was acceptable. The size of the room is small, but enough for two. It was clean. Only one big towel provided and a small disposable towel and some amenities. The bed was comfortable (to European standards, not too hard), but the double bed has two single mattresses, which was a bit annoying in the middle. AC worked well, but you can't control the temperature, only the wind speed. For me it was OK, but some might find it too cold. The shower didn't had a curtain. Location is very convenient and the free parking was just across the street.

DislikedI would like to have a curtain at the shower, so not everything gets wet while showering. There is a small different in floor level in the room, just be careful. A big mattress for a double room would be nice in stead of two singles.

LikedGreat location, clean rooms. Staff were helpful when we were having difficulties with a flight booking. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the MRT and the Night Market.

DislikedNo real view from window Property is very close to the next property so the view out the window is just looking at a neighbouring building.

LikedGreat staff and 24h reception. We could leave our bags at the reception when we arrived before check-in, and the staff helped us retrieve our key card when we accidentaly locked it into the room. Room was great for the price. Great location close to the Kaohsiung main station and the Lihue night market.

DislikedThe walls were very thin and the last night other guests seem to be having a gathering in a room close to ours which were very loud. Otherwise, I have nothing to complain about except soap and a hand towel missing feom the bathroom.
