Overall, I would say the hotel is nice to stay. All the facilities are ordinary. Advantage is the price, not expensive for 3 pax. But the location is a bit far from train station.(Walk 15mins)

Just on a bustling street with lots of diners, convenient store, and shops. Also very close to a famous spring park within 1-2 min by walk. Hotel is with certain years, but facilities are maintained well. A big tub which allows you enjoying hot spring comfortably.

We were quite shocked by the female receptionist (might be the boss of the hotel)'s attitude when we were there to check in the hotel. Her intonation didn't sound very friendly and we didn't feel welcomed at the very beginning. But her attitude was okay after the check in procedures. She also allowed us to have early check in and to help us keep our luggage after check out, which deserves a big thumb up. The location is okay and not very far from the train station. Walking distance to some popular restaurants. We booked the hotel for the purpose of having sauna in the bathroom but we ended up had our sauna elsewhere. Because there were so many sauna plcs in Jiaoxi. I aware that there were some reviews mentioned about the cockroaches but we didn't notice any cockroaches in our room. Lastly, the hardness of the bed is comfortable to my liking. So we might consider booking the same hotel during our following visit to Jiaoxi.

We couldn't sleep a wink on night 2 due to the air conditioning blowing out smoke-filled air. This is supposed to be a no smoking facility and I have a 9 year old child in the room. When I brought up the issue, she said she couldn't control actions of other guests and she put up a sign on the door. We traveled to 16 other hotels all around Taiwan (round the island tour), we've not had the problem of people smoking in the room. There are a few issues: 1). Why is our AC connected to another room / area where our room could reek of smoke? 2). Why is the smoke detector not sufficient enough to activate the alarm? 3). Why is there only a small signage? We've been to many hotels where no smoking is very obvious - fines of 100,000 NTD everywhere - front door, elevators, in room. At this hotel, she pointed to a small no smoking sign at the door and seemed that it was her only responsibility. She also didn't feel responsible at all for the health and safety of her guests. This is just not acceptable!!
