Longchi Hot-Spring Hotel

LikedThe location was quiet but accessible to all of Jiaoxi, a bit more walking than other comparable properties. The hotspring water was great (most properties in the area have this quality). The primary contact and manager was very friendly, however the rest of the staff did not have good hospitality.

DislikedVery serious mold issue in the AC unit and in the bathroom. Overall older hotel that is not well maintained. The pictures for this listing are severely outdated. There was no breakfast which was advertised--we were referred to a small local breakfast shop around the corner. The big issue is that the hotspring spa that was advertised was not open during the listed hours and we needed to negotiate times of use for the spa 24 hours in advance to be able use the amenity. Overall seedy or questionable feel of other guests (please read between the lines here). My female partner was not comfortable here within the first 48 hours. This is not represented in the listing at all. Language skills were not consistent for both parties, my partner and I are Americans, I speak some Chinese, my partner does not. The owner would speak English with my partner and then use broken English and Chinese with me. This felt predatory in light of our issues with the accommodation. We were able to negotiate a partial refund of our booking with the owner but this experience soured our time in Jiaoxi and we left 4 days earlier than planned.

DislikedCompletely overpriced, although that was also caused by the New Year.
