LikedWe liked the quirkyness of the hotel built into a hill. But also the good location.

DislikedMy wife noticed the bedding wasn't changed during the week. Apart from that the room was kept very clean.

Likedwhere do I start, everything was great, I don’t think I have ever stayed in a hotel before that looked as new and was as clean as this one. i have no complaints, from the room to the pools to the reception and bar areas were spotless and everything looked brand new. the spa and indoor pool areas were great and I really enjoyed my head neck and back massage I got on the last day. we had breakfast included and lots of variety and choice something for everyone from cereals to bread, pastries fruit and cooked breakfast was great . staff were very friendly and helpful always greeting us and saying goodbye when we left :)

DislikedThe first room we were put in was absolutely awful. The stench of mould and damp was unbearable and made me feel unwell. We were moved to another room the next day which was an upheaval with luggage. The next room was marginally better but still had a huge problem with mould spores (see photo of bedroom wall) and a terrible mould smell. But apparently this was the best option available. If you have any chest issues please think carefully before staying here! The mould smell was in the kitchen cupboards too. It was so bad that even though I washed the dishes and put them away, I still had to wash them again when I took them out before using them, because they smell of mould and damp. The lift was noisy day and night and made for a bad sleep. Plug sockets, cupboard doors and handles were hanging off and very unsafe. The sofa bed was unsafe and kept collapsing because of the tiled floor - dangerous! The fridge was broken, our stuff fell out and smashed. The kettle was broken and would not switch off. The fridge leaked constantly and soaked the floor daily. Please see all photos… We asked for repairs, and these were attempted but it didn’t fix the issues. How much of your holiday do you want to waste trying to repeatedly fix issues?! There were cockroaches on the premises. One ran past me. I alerted a staff member who was stood beside me at the time in the corridor. He stamped on it and went about his business. Obviously they are used to this. We were unable to open any of our bedroom windows because of the absolute stench of drains. Please see my photos of our view from the bedroom and bathroom. Unable to get any fresh air at night because of this, unless you want to smell other peoples poop in your bedroom! If you want a peaceful break, do NOT go to this hotel. Unfortunately, there is a lot of building work being completed infront of this hotel and also beside. The noise of still saws and hammering is continuous!!!!

LikedWe really liked friendly and helpful staff everywhere. Big thank you to the desk intern girl (blonde), cave bar personnel and breakfast bar personnel for all the great services provided! We also liked the size and location of our studio room with a view to the church, the selection of food at the breakfast bar and happy hours at the cave bar. The location of the hotel is also great, although its located quite far from the capital, it is still conveniently located close to the bus stop and the centre of Mellieha.

DislikedIt is not hotels fault, but we were disappointed with the behaviour of french tourists, who think that they are centre of the world. Their behaviour both in the corridors when passing by, and especially in the swimming pools were unacceptable. They were allowing their kids to take over the whole swimming pool, splash, dive in and in other ways disturb other people’s peace. Also, even though our studio was really comfortable and nice, it could have been cleaner. The church/beach view might not be suitable for people who are light sleepers and dislike noise as the cave bar has music playing all the time, as well as the church bells ringing, although it was not a problem to us.
